ShadowWolf Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Well, that was a pretty good performance me thinks. Honestly, it probably was one of the best of the night, compared to all the lip-synching and ass-shaking that the common person apparently thinks is "good." Ugh.First off, peoples, it's 21 Guns. It's a slower, more emotional song. Sure, it doesn't show off Green Day's ability to really be energetic and get a crowd going, but it showed their ability to really just, connect to people, you know? And so it was a little slower than most performances we're used to. For most of us, it was akin to the end of a long concert, not a one-song performance at an award show. They were a little tired, and perhaps even washed-out, but they've been touring virtually nonstop since the new record hit. Of course they're going to be a bit tired. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they're exausted by now.Okay, so Billie had a little, erm, experimental hiccup with his vocals. Who hasn't?Anyways, I'd say it was a pretty rockin' performance anyways from our boys. As always, they've shown that rock will forever be better than any of this rap/hip-hop stuff that's become so popular lately. And I'm going to bed now. Good night.
Samantha Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Gaga did have the best performanceShe sound fanfuckingtastic

Mar Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 BTW, GAGA'S PERFORMANCE > GREEN DAY'S PERFORMANCESorry if I just made you die a little inside.hahahahah. I literally cringed. I'm sorry. iawtc completely, but that's alright, both are amazing and awesome and epic shaking and crying walking in the rain failing my exams etc etc etc
The Daughter of Rage and Love Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Honestly, it probably was one of the best of the night, compared to all the lip-synching and ass-shaking that the common person apparently thinks is "good." Ugh.Yes! There weren't any real varieties in the (somewhat robotic) choreography, which got boring after a while.
*withoutadoubt* Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 21 Guns is a slow, thoughtful song. What do you think Billie's face is going to look like when he's singing it? Just because his face was serious and contemplative instead of crazy and manic it doesn't mean he was dying of tiredness. Also everyone should watch it again and delight in Tre's amazing facial expressions during the piano solo Ohh, the look on his face was adorable! I love 21 Guns; I can't help but get emotional every time I hear them sing that song. I loved their performance tonight.
Rosie May Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Just watched the performance, I'm not really sure what to think... it could have been epic but Billie's voice was pretty off. What's with him on award shows lately? It wasn't their best but they are probably really tired and stuff. I just hope the show tomorrow night is better. I should really good now, goodnight/morning...
Vanilla Shake Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Ha, Green Day's taking quite a bashing on twitter. It's either people who love them or people who hate them.
HoneyDo666 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Gaga did have the best performanceShe sound fanfuckingtasticGaga needs to show her T and A and have ridiculous costumes or everyone would realize that she's really not that original. She's the new Madonna. Her performance bothered me, it was like what are you singing about, put some clothes on, and stop making faces just for shits and gigs.Green Day needs none of that. They just touch people and also know how to have fun.Ha, Green Day's taking quite a bashing on twitter. It's either people who love them or people who hate them. Why is that a "Ha" moment?
Tiffx Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Ha, Green Day's taking quite a bashing on twitter. It's either people who love them or people who hate them.Green Day get bashed after all those other excuses for performances? JLO fail anyone?
HoneyDo666 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Where are these stupid bashers? And can we ask them what they think would have been better?

It's understandable... I guess. She's ~out there, but undeniably very talented.

ifmemoryserves Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Talented, yes. But she should let her talent speak for itself.Eh, good point.

I should really good now, goodnight/morning...I think performing at an awards show is so different for them - they feed off the audience so much usually, and tonight there wasn't much energy there. That audience tonight was half-dead, they had to sit thru almost three hours of crap music before they got some good stuff.

dolce Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I thought the guys did a FANTASTIC job. I really did. They sounded great (one bad note for Billie doesn't equal a bad performance, give me a break) and looked fantastic.
