My sister bought 'Warning' when I was about seven and she constantly played it. My mum loved Minority in particular, but she thought the chorus was 'I want to be a Monaro Kid' (as in the car, the Holden Monaro). Having said that, I would've heard my first GD song in my sisters bedroom. So I knew about them back then, but it wasn't until I was about 11 and turned on the radio and heard BOBD that I was converted. I was blown away, like, 'WTF? There's a good song ... on THIS radio station?'

a couple years ago, I was in the car with my sister and Longview started playing on the radio, and she said "Didn't you ask me who Green Day was?" I did FYI!

And in late 2005 I was watching VH1, and the video for Wake Me Up When September Ends came on. After that I was hooked.

When I was 13. Watching highlights from woodstock 94 from that day. I remember seeing Billie with that shocking blue hair singing when I come around and thinking it was the most awesome thing I had ever seen or heard!

My older brother was into them in the dookie era and I heard him playing basket case and loved it so asked him who they were and borrowed the CD :-)

I was on holiday near the north sea.

It was raining all day long , so I was sitting in front of the TV when this short tv commercial changed my life

The first time I heard them, at least conciously, was in 2004 with Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I was in my room and it came on the radio. I used to listen to any crap that was popular when I was little, but I just had to hear Green Day once to know, in a weird way, that they were different and better than anything else I'd ever heard. And they still are. I had no idea that it was even possible to love a band that much. It wasn't until 2006 that I became completely obssessed though.

I remember hearing Good Riddance on the radio in '98, but I didn't know it was Green Day. The first song I heard where I knew it was GD was late 2004 and my friend Sara played American Idiot for me after school.

I heard Longview for the first time in 1995 when I was about 11. I heard it on the radio and fell in love with it. I remember being really struck by the bass line and the drums. Oh so awesome. 15 years later, still love that song so much.

When I was little, I listened to everything that was on the radio. But when I heard Green Day (I think it was Boulevard of Broken Dreams), I became completly obssesed with them. I still am and I know I will always be!!! There is no other band that i could possibly love that much :D Now I don't listen almost anything exept Green Day :D

I saw GD on tv 4 years ago for the first time. I was 4th grader and my brother and me both loved beavis and butthead to death. And so once I saw the episode called "spanish fly' where Basket Case was featured. I remember to getting to know that this band was Green Day only when I was 6th grader, i guess.

It was when Good Riddance came out and I heard it everywhere and my friend had the CD so we gave it a listen. I might have heard Basketcase beforehand but I don't exactly remember a memory.

the first song I heard was Brainstew on the radio in the car.
