I think I was in the car on the way to my nan's house and Good Riddance came on the radio.

I heard BOBD on the radio like 15 times a day at work (and recognized it as GD, which is probably what you mean by hearing them for the first time). The funny thing is, I can't even remember where I was working at that time. Might have been a theme park but I'm not sure. I think I was brainwashed. LOL.

I've heard my first Green Day Song at my home as my family listen to it - it was At the Library.

It will be so strange that the day before Green Day played it at Birmingham show, my ex girlfriend broke up to me in a Library

I was lying in my bed, watching TV late in the evening. There was nothing good on so I switched through the channels and then stopped at a concert shown on MTV. That was Green Day! It was not only the music that blew me away all of a sudden but also the way they play a concert (you all know what I mean). I don't know which song was the first one because I did not know any of the names at that point but I could not take my eyes off of Billie Joe and had to watch the whole concert. After that I started to get as much information about them as possible. That concert was shown on TV after Warning was released and I still regret that I have not discovered them earlier because I feel that I missed a great time. But is was so cool (and expensive) to get so many albums, which are new to me, all at once :D

i was about 11 when i heard BOBD on the radio. i was with my mom though and she hated it, she kept trying to change the station and i was all "wait!! this is soooo awesome!!" :D

BOBD is still my favorite song

I was 5 in the car with my mommy and we were listening to the "current" radio station and "when I come around" came on. Of course being 5 I did not go out any buy all of their albums....that came later. When American Idiot was released I was in middle school and expanding my tastes - obviously I bought the album. You should have seen my face when I bought Dookie and heard "when I come around" for the first time.

In my room. On Christmas 2005. I got American Idiot and I didn't even know who is Green Day, I just said my mom to buy it because I didn't know what I want for Christmas and my friend told me they're good :P

So it was obviously American Idiot because it's first song on the record... :P

In 2004, I was sitting at my computer and listening to XM Radio and BOBD came on. I loved the song sooo much I downloaded it on iTunes right away and since then I have been obsessed! :)

I feel like I may have heard Basket Case as a child, but the first time I really heard Green Day was (don't laugh) when I saw a Kids Bop commercial and they sang BOBD. I liked it, but didn't bother trying to find out the original artist, something I deeply regret. :P

A few years later, probably late '07 or early '08, my brother showed me the American Idiot music video. I was doing something else at the time so I wasn't really interested in watching it. But later on I decided I wanted to see it again, and I liked the song. I looked on Youtube to find other Green Day songs, and when I found out that they sang BOBD, I was hooked.

I was at my best friends house and we were watching TV and we had stayed up really late and she passed out and I was watching music videos on VH1 and the video for American Idiot came on and it blew my mind. I was only about 13 at the time and about 2 weeks later my mom took me to Best Buy and I bought AI and after I got burned out on it, I looked up the rest of their stuff and the rest is history :D

PS. everyone totally thought it was just a phase but they were so wrong.
