Soo Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I'm not as enthusiastic about Slane as I am about the English shows. It's an absolute pain in the arse to get to, and it's so terribly run. Plus, there's a hell of alot more people going and it's not technically a Green Day show because it's a mini festival. They'll be playing a shorter set, I imagine.I kind of know what you mean but once all the details have (hopefully) been confirmed, I am sure I will be ridiculously enthusiastic as I will know I am going to see them again!! Plus, I can have a wee holiday at the same time!

Green day played a full set at oxegen in 2005It's just because someone said that Oasis didn't play a particularly long set this year. Hhmm, maybe they did
Alan86 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 It's just because someone said that Oasis didn't play a particularly long set this year. Hhmm, maybe they did Oh I didn't know that. I dont think id like it if Green Day were being limited like that so they couldnt play what they wanted. Maybe oasis were just fighting and decided to play a shorter set themselves Im sure the chillis and u2 played full sets when they headlined slane
Soo Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I always thought that the headliner of a festival are the only band to play their full set. Green day played a full set at oxegen in 2005They played for over 2 hours at TiTP in 2005, which is longer than some of the other headliners have played. Need to stop thinking about this as it will probably be yonks till anything is officially confirmed.
Comedy & Tragedy Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Does anyone know if there are any age restrictions for Slane.Like, would a 14 year-old be able to go?I probably won't be able to go, but I just wanna see if I could...
Isabel Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I'd say you might need an adult with you, worst case scenario. But don't quote me on that
Comedy & Tragedy Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 OK. I doubt I'll get to go.I really hope they play Dublin at least once this summer, if not slane. (marley park would be awesome!! lol)
Bubbles. Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 If they are going to play Slane, I really hope it's announced in advance :/ lol
novacaine_kid Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I still hope this happens, even though I have 3 summer shows already Ireland would just be too awesome. But only if its slane, I'm not keen on going to Oxygen fest
Isabel Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 I really doubt they'd do Oxegen AND Slane. I would hate to go to Oxegen too, though
sara_gd Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 It says 'contact us' on top of the 2fm website.. imma ask them! did they reply?
Isabel Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 STILL no further info on this.Although I'm a wee bit concerned that they might play Oxegen now instead of Slane. Rock Werchter is only a week before Oxegen so it would make more sense for them to play that, seeing as how Slane isn't until August :/

I don't think I'd be able to go to Oxegen...
Isabel Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I'd say they just got excited maybe and announced something that was still in discussion :/If Green Day doesn't play Slane, I'll definitely be sending 2FM an email saying "Don't go announcing something without having factual evidence first"
colour_me_stupid_ Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 did they reply?NopeI'd say they just got excited maybe and announced something that was still in discussion :/If Green Day doesn't play Slane, I'll definitely be sending 2FM an email saying "Don't go announcing something without having factual evidence first" I'll send them a big flippin swearing rant
sara_gd Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 they HAVE to play Slane. If not... I won't see them until "the next tour"...
Isabel Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Jesus look who posted Who?they HAVE to play Slane. If not... I won't see them until "the next tour"... Can you not make it to one of the UK shows?
sara_gd Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Who?Can you not make it to one of the UK shows? My end of school trip will be probably in those dates :/ And, anyway, my mum wouldn't let me go by my own, and she says she's not going to determine her life to "those people"

Rock Werchter is only a week before Oxegen so it would make more sense for them to play that, seeing as how Slane isn't until August :/I had kind of stopped thinking about this cos it was doing my head in, not knowing for sure! But, if they do play Oxegen, that means T in The Park would be a very strong possibility! My ideal summer would be seeing them in June in Manchester, July at T in The Park and August at Slane! :)
Bubbles. Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I'm guessing there's no further news on this?
