Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit.

Can you imagine how EPIC that would be if Green Day played there? If they could get a big enough crowd, they'd kick the ass of the Milton Keynes show.

I really hope the rumors are true, even if there's no way I could possibly go.

As an Irish person i would be delighted if Green Day were to play Slane. I wouldn't mind being pinned against the front barrier by that size crowd either.

Here is another crowd shot of when U2 played there in 2001 slane-thecrowd2.jpg

I thought that if they came back and did a massive show next year, that they would maybe play Knebworth for some reason.

I can just imagine it now Green Day Live At Slane Castle 2010 DVD.

Green Day alone wouldn't pull in the same number than U2 did, definitely not.

But it wouldn't just be them. There's other bands that play; Green Day are probably rumoured to be the headline band.

I don't care what's on in June, I'm definitely going to this if it happens.

^ Lmao i know it shows how massive U2 are! They sold out the 185,000 arena within an hour!

how many does that place hold?

As great as this is - going to something on that scale really frightens me, especially because I'd make myself get to the front...

"In August of most years since 1981 the grounds of Slane castle are used to host rock concerts. The natural amphitheatre has a 100,000 person capacity. In 2004, pop superstar Madonna performed her first ever music concert in Ireland at Slane Castle for 60,000 people in stormy weather for 3 hours."

Thanks you wiki :D

How many were at the Keys? 60,000 both nights?

They'll have a tough time getting anywhere near that with the trainwreck promoting that has been done for 21stCB, Green Day are nowhere near as popular as they were in the AI era.

And? Who cares?

I don't think that it's important to top Milton Keynes, am I the only one who thinks like that? They'll do a great show, no matter how many people are there.

They don't need to prove anyone that they are (one of) the best live bands around right now, I'm sure that all people who go there already know that :D
