'Booo!' Billie Joe opens the door to their wardrobe and wants to scare us! Thereby he pulls a crazy face. Typical of Green Day! The biggest Punk-Rock band is always hyped up - and is game for anything (--I hope THIS translation was right--).

Before the start of their German tour, BRAVO was allowed to take a look at the backstage of the Super-Punks' show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

The biggest surprise: Singer BJ, Bassist MD, and drummer TC are still totally normal, despite of the 'Mega-Hype' and 55 Million sold records: sympathetic, humble and the nice guys from next door.

Before the show starts, the three Punkrockers are hanging out in their wardrobe: Billie Joe writes down an idea for a song, while hyperactive Tré puts on old records on his portable record player.

Meanwhile, a bunch of crew members come and talk with the guys. Star cult or VIP-extra-treatment?

'On tour we're like a big family', says BJ. A very big one: 93 crew members works for the gigantic Green Day tour. Seven tour busses and 11 trucks carry the staff and the equipment from city to city.

The band travels by bus as well - in contrast to a lot of other stars who exclusively travel by their privat jets. 'We can't afford that. We charge too little for our tickets to be able to fly from show to show', says Mike.

That's true: a Green Day ticket costs about 45 € - other rockbands like Metallica and AC/DC charge twice as much!

'Too expensive' grumbles BJ. 'Only rich people can afford such high admission charges. But rockmusic is there for everyone! Everybody should be able to afford a ticket'

At a Green Day concert the price-performance ratio is right: for the admission price the fan gets a crazy, 2 1/2 hour long punk party. And now the German fans can look forward to seeing these crazy shows...

haha, well in there last issue they wrote about billie cutting somebodys hair.... i was like "great...?" oh and once they said he was surprised that so many fans arrived at their first show this tour and there was a picture of him. billie just had his mouth open in it because he was jumping.

then how come Billie Australian tickets were $101.00

I know they have no other option to fly and Rod Laver was always going to be expensive but fuck, don't claim to be cheap everywhere when they aren't
