netty Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I don't think it's a case of taking the safer route, though, but maybe it was the only route. For all we know things didn't work out as planned and they simply couldn't make a video for EJN for whatever reason - time, for one thing. But who knows? It also sounds to me like things have changed back and fourth over the last few weeks so who knows what's been going on behind the scenes. But yeah I don't think it's a case of "We'll do this because it's safer". I don't think that's the kind of attitude they have towards this sort of thing personally. They love a bit of controversy! XDexactly! there are no doubt whole rafts of different things that influence what single is chosen for release when or where. or what video they decide to go for.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Sooo....we're gonna be seeing EJN in October? Then how come people are already watching the video in the UK?

I don't know, whatever the reasons are it just seems like a massive wasted opportunity to me - if it's a time thing I'd rather they'd wait until they have time to release it properly. Do my favourite song justice!!
Sarahnade. Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I'm confused.21CB is still the next single, right? EJN is after it..? And is the live video the music video for EJN?
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I'm confused.21CB is still the next single, right? EJN is after it..? And is the live video the music video for EJN?USA and the UK get EJN with that live music video in october.. the rest of the world get 21st CB.
JesusofFerrol Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 OK, for me isnt important if they put EJN or 21 CB as single in Usa, UK, or something... Is stupid for me.BUT before the album comes out, when i read the song "March of the dogs" in the preview i just want to see a video... I think that will be EPIC...Later when i listen the song, with a new name EJN, im pretty sure that will be a single with a epic video. They playes EJN in Letterman and the VMAs...WEll, If Green Day dont put out a VIDEO (normal music video, not concert clips) for EJN is the most stupid, insulting, disappoiting, thing that they ever made.In this community, people like ANDRES email with somebody near the band or the label... I wish tah somebody question about EJN VIDEO¡¡¡Im very sorry for my poor English, but i nedd to say this. Thanx
Clayish Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 So Freaking confusing.East Jesus Nowhere: USA and UK?21CB: Rest of world? WTF is that USA? I dont get it....
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I think they chose USA for EJN because of the whole religion thing. IDK.To prove something.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 So Freaking confusing.East Jesus Nowhere: USA and UK?21CB: Rest of world? WTF is that USA? I dont get it....Its pretty simple the United States and the United Kingdom will get EJN as the new single.Everywhere else in the world will get 21CB as the new single

Hermione Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 ^Well I like it and that's all that matters! The fact it'll be out in the US does please me, I must say. Still not good enough though
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 K.and your sig btw is not funny at all.Such an annoying meme.Hey! No need to be rude. Seriously. Guest jetblackheart Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I gotta say that I LIKE the live video of EJN, and I think it's pretty epic (Billie saving the kids and all ). But I think people expect something more from music videos these days than just live footage. I wish they'd make another couple of videos like Holiday/BOBD. They could easily do that with for example Christian's Inferno and Last Night On Earth. Now that would be a dream come true for me. I love it how Holiday changes to BOBD.
emmaILGD! Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Yes I think we will get 21CB in the US eventually. It only makes sense since it is after all the the title track from the CDAnd the UK too, probably I love your sig, for the record.

Angela. Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Got a reply back. EJN will be released as a single in both the UK and the USA. The rest of the world will get 21CB as a single. I assume videos are playing in both. The US will be getting EJN?I'm sorry in advance for this, but I have to do it:FUCK YEAH! I'm satisfied with GD/Warner right now. VERY satisfied. This just made my entire fucking month, no lie. There is one more issue to address, though. The EJN video posted on GD's website was pretty cool, don't get me wrong. But I'm craving a controversial video to be made and released as the official video, not the video posted on GD's website. I mean, here's how I look at it. It's already been confirmed that EJN will be the next single, and I feel like that song is controversial enough for people to get rallied up. Why not just go all out and make the most controversial music video possible? If the video posted on GD's website is the real music video, I'll be disappointed. Why? Because I feel like it would be chickening out on a perfect opportunity to stir some shit up and (possibly) make people see the light (pun intended) about the contradictions of religion.

Yeah or LOTAM with murder city..but I don't like LOTAM. I really want RHS.Yeah I still have my hopes on that. I don't know why....
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 And the UK too, probably I love your sig, for the record. Thanks Emms you are too kind
Kryssi. Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 They were going back and forth, well just generally confusing the fuck outta me. But glad this has all been confirmed.
mac16 Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 If the US is really getting EJN, I'm stoked! Seriously, a video would be awesome, but I'm looking forward to the faith-fanatics getting all riled up. Heidi Montag and Miley Cyrus are going to flip their lid
Anja Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 WEll, If Green Day dont put out a VIDEO (normal music video, not concert clips) for EJN is the most stupid, insulting, disappoiting, thing that they ever made.Lots of music video are just live clips. I for myself LOVE the East Jesus Nowhere live clip and I´d love to see it on nationl TV. I think if bands put out videos that show the bands live energy, it´s a great chance to present themselves as a live band to a wider audience. I mean, you mostly get to know how a band is live when you see them on stage or see a live dvd of them. So people who´ve never seen Green Day live (neither during a show in person nor on a dvd) will get an authentic image of how it is to see them live, how they are as a live band and how they completely cast a spell over their audience and what their greatest ability is. You probably get to know a band better by seeing a live clip rather than by seeing them standing in a room, playing their song with people around them nearly getting shot.Excuse my english.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 ^I agree 100% Anja.No one is complaining about "everything"They could have made a suitably big statement and a real splash with EJN, with a video as bold as the song and a world wide release. Instead they've chosen the safer route. It seems like a cop out, which is surely the opposite of the sentiments expressed in the song! That's the only thing I'm complaining about.Of course if they DO make a proper video I take it all back you may not be complaining about everything, but every single thing they have done since before this album was released has been bitched about.
netty Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 you may not be complaining about everything, but every single thing they have done since before this album was released has been bitched about.its amazing how much as well! or it is to me. its almost like "how DARE they put that out as their video/not promote it properly/paint one finger nail blue and not exxplain it!!!!!" shesh! chill out people!
