apparently Warner said 21CB will be the new single for the rest of the world and the UK will get EJN.

I wonder if that live EJN video is the actual video for the single? I mean, they've never released a video that way before, have they? Doesn't it always get premiered on MTV or something like that? Maybe that was just some hype for the single - or did it say 'video'? I have to go look now...

Edit: It doesn't say anything about the video being official on GD.com - it only says East Jesus Nowhere on top of the video link...so maybe it's not the official one. I happen to love it, so whatever, lol.

Oh, i really though that if this was to be a single they would do a proper video not a live thingy one like they have done even though i love the live one all the same. I am glad they are releasing it and think it will do really well, but yeah the video could have been so much better. But i am confused...i thought they said they were releasing 21CB next, or was that just assumed cos they were filming a video for it? If it was assumed then, they must be filming it early....maybe it needs a lot of computer graphics or something else that takes time to put on. I dunno, trust green day to do it all confusing!?!?

EDIT: Ahhh so 21CB is everywhere else in the world...i get it now...i should have gone to GDA before coming on here instead of afterwards

Yup. And it just gets me mad because they've been confusing us. First they tell us 21st CB is gonna be the single. Next we hear that 21st CB and EJN will come out together,then rumor says that 21st CB was gonna come out here in the US and everywhere in the world and EJN in the UK. Now they say WE get EJN too and the rest of the world gets 21st CB.

I mean and now thats the music video? Seriously,Thats just a live video,thats it. Nothing Special. And For a song like EJN? I would think they'd come up with something Great for it.

They could have made a suitably big statement and a real splash with EJN, with a video as bold as the song and a world wide release. Instead they've chosen the safer route. It seems like a cop out, which is surely the opposite of the sentiments expressed in the song! That's the only thing I'm complaining about.

Of course if they DO make a proper video I take it all back

I don't think it's a case of taking the safer route, though, but maybe it was the only route. For all we know things didn't work out as planned and they simply couldn't make a video for EJN for whatever reason - time, for one thing. But who knows? It also sounds to me like things have changed back and fourth over the last few weeks so who knows what's been going on behind the scenes.

But yeah I don't think it's a case of "We'll do this because it's safer". I don't think that's the kind of attitude they have towards this sort of thing personally. They love a bit of controversy! XD
