I saw the video yesterday on MTV France... I didn't get why they wrote "Green Day - East Jesus Nowhere - 21st Century Meltdown" ahah

LMFAO. I find that hilarious for some reason.

Lol. I know in my head why it's funny, but it's hard to explain. Haha. :D

That's part of it I think. It's not even like they made a typo or something, it's a full on word-change. I can just imagine the guy in charge...

"21st Century.....aw fuck. Breakdown? NAH, that's the name of the song. Gotta be Meltdown."

Me too. I wish rock radio didn't suck around here.

Just heard East Jesus on the radio! It's SUCH a radio song! An amazing single, 21 Guns is weak in comparison.

Posted

so East jesus nowhere came out already??

OMFG~~ They played EJN yesturday and i didn't know. :verymad:

I'm probably not going to hear this on the local radio until next year.

Whoah. why?

fwiw, when I have seen EJN on Scuzz and Kerrang 'god damned' is censored. On MTV TWO there is no censorship at all.

Strange how a profanity is censored but sodomizing your dog is not, what a strange world we live in. Though I guess censoring 'god damned' just confirms that the EJN lyrical message is right.

thats funny i couldve sworn i seen it on kerrang and it said "god damned" ^^ Maybe im wrong though but i dont think ive actually seen it on mtv two yet and i know for sure ive seen it at least 5 or 6 times and none of the song was censored. Maybe theyve only started censoring it in the last few days and ive missed it? I only seen it once censored and that was on, funnily enough, scuzz  You wouldnt think they'd censor it wouldya?

Agreed, shame on Scuzz. But they are the only place I ever see the 'dropping bullet' aka proper version of 21 Guns, so I will cut them some slack. In a recent weekly hot videos top 40 they included all 3 21CB videos - I was impressed.

Scuzz censor goddamn but they play they original video for Bowling For Soup's My Wena? It makes no sense XD

but I think you know maybe the video for EJN is like U2's I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight. if u pay attention it has 2 videos. an official music video and an montage of concerts.

grrrr.

I think it's just for now, though. Hopefully we get a decent one later :)

I heard it last night on Chicago's WKQX (Q101) unedited

I've seen the video a few times on tv... I actually hadn't noticed any censorship at all? I know I've seen it a few times on NME, MTV2 & Kerrang... Maybe I just haven't seen it on Scuzz yet and that's the only channel that censored it. I have noticed they seems to have the most censorship. Lame ass metalheads.

I was actually pleasantly suprised to hear no censorship. I was expecting a boatload. I'd say when it's played in the US (or if it is) that it will be heavily censored.
