they played the video on Kerrang today... it was the video where they're performing live with bits added in (artwork from 21stCB) and them "saving" the kids. It said on the top of Kerrang "New Green Day Video plays every hour"

So hopefully that ends peoples confusion about the video :o

I wish I knew about this earlier before the Zane Lowe countdown thing XD now I doubt it'll come on again tonight

When Radio 1 played it earlier today I thought it might be a double A side with 21stCB, but I guess not. Damn I'm confused.

but i think that kerrang are only saying it is their new video because it was posted on the official site.

i guess it is technically their new video. just no single to go with it. yet.

So.. There will be two singles? (Europe/US) Sounds cool. I hope the music vid for EJN won't be the live vid, EJN just has so much potential to make a great vid! :D

I'd laugh so hard if it actually was an official video. Seeing how we all know for sure it will be very special :P

It doesn't really matter what country the singles get released in, they're going to cross-over to other countries anyways. I don't really get the point of releasing two different singles, but that's just me.

Your not alone with that feeling. I don't get it either.

As long as i have my decent 21st CB vid i'm cool with it.

But i think GD should tell us in their website about EJN.

I must admit, I'd much rather they took their time with releasing singles so that we could get a "proper" video for both singles. I'm quite disappointed if the life mix is the official video for EJN :/

Yeah, lol  It would just be.. like.. wrong xD

If EJN is the new single then it hasn't been promoted that well, theres nothing on greenday.com saying its the new single. Personally I think its just a big misunderstanding. We'll find out soon enough though.

Same here, however the live video IMO, was really well edited and made me even more excited to be seeing them live next month.

I agree... Even thought I love the video, I still think it should be something more xD It could be such an epic video!!

Exactly. :)

Oh yeah, totally. The live video is great in its own right, and an amazing tease for the new tour, but... I think it should have been just that. There's too much potential behind a song like EJN to let it fade away in a blur of, what seems to be, a hastened decision.

If 21st CB video is crap I'm losing my hope that we get a decent video for any single off of this record. Even EJN.

And I would be majorly fuckin disappointed. :/

Very good point. They could have a amazing video for this, there's so many things they could do with it and really make a statement. I don't think they should release the live video, no matter how good it is :)

I don't think the 21st CB video will be crap. It's got to be better than the last two.

If this is true (and technically, we've still not had full confirmation) why has the UK promotion been so bad ?

Hah, I thought 21 guns video had to be better than KYE, yet it was not.

People bash Bayer but he screwed up only 2 videos out of 5 :whistling:

Like I have said before in a thread that I made (which got closed

cause captain peroxide is a dumbass

)

East Jesus Nowhere is the next single

Here is an email that I got from my local rock station Rock 108

Matt -

With vacation and simply being busy, I didn't get back to you sooner, but finally, I am!

I decided not to play "21 Guns" by Green Day (the band's most recent single) for a couple of reasons; (1) I felt it was a weak follow up to "Know Your Enemy", which was pretty pop and didn't generate many requests. (2) I was already playing a few other softer songs and didn't want another ballad from Green Day and (3) I just simply liked the heavier "East Jesus Nowhere" track so much more. "21 Guns" was also being worked to Top 40 radio (Z102.9, Q92.3) and I didn't wish to be playing the same track that Top 40 radio was playing. Just for the record, "21 Guns" didn't do well at this format (Active Rock) either, peaking at #19 on the chart. It died rather quickly and not many rock stations played the song - so, I wasn't the only one.

I added "21st Century Breakdown" back on March 11th(!) thanks to a nice 'leak' and while we didn't get a lot of response to that either, it's a terrific track. However, despite what Green Day's website says, Reprise Records is working "East Jesus Nowhere" as the next single. So, that's odd.

In any case, there's the explanation for the "East Jesus Nowhere" on Rock 108.

Thanks for listening!

:-)

I am extremely confused.

Hopefully we'll get some official confirmation on all this stuff soon! It's wierd they would release two singles at the same time, it seems like it would be rather confusing and hard to manage. And we do know they are working on the the 21CB video....

I agree with most everyone here, the live video is really cool and well done, but EJN is much more deserving of a bold, powerful video that really makes a statement.
