iLozza! Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I love this song! What a great choice I actually used to listen to this song on repeat for hours on end, back last year. It's a fantastic song. In fact, the whole album is great.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Is it me or did billie right alot of becoming old in the old albums??Anyways i like this song alot.
PleasedToMeetMe Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Kerplunk is a classic. I get really offended when I meet young wannabe GD fans who dont even know this album exists.
Nikki_Nimrod Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 One of my favorite songs off one of my favorite albums! This is one of those songs i could never get sick of, no matter how many times i've heard it. I identify so much with the fear of growing up and getting older, changing and everything. Yet even as this song's addressing such a frightening topic, it still manages to sound upbeat and happy. Such an excellent song, I love it to death!
Modern Zero. Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 This is one of my favorites on Kerplunk! =D And Kerplunk! is my absolute favorite GD album. I don't know if it's just me, but when Billie sings, "It keeps my head spinning around" doesn't it kinda sound like, "It keeps my husband in the room"...? Now everytime I listen to this song, I hear that instead of the actual lyrics. LOL
Chad is Rad Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Nice! This is probably my favorite song from Kerplunk! It's a tie between Android and One of My Lies...
Tiffx Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I can relate to this song so much, thank you.
Ila Reto Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 YES!this song is amazing. it really captures what being at that age is about- trying to find yourself and feeling the world zip past you in the meantime."it seems so frightening, time passes by like lightningbefore you know it you're struck down.i always waste my time onmy chemical emotionsit keeps my head spinning aroundand waste away..."the whole song in general is the best , great choice!
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 love playing this one on guitar.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 one of my favourite Green day songshey old man in woman shoes i wonder if he knows i think its crazywhen he was young did he had dreams of wearing woman shoes and being crazy
Mar Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 God, that's so weird that this is SOTW, because in my class today my teacher kept using the term "android" and as a result, I had this song in my head all throughout the class today!Love it. Love Kerplunk, love this song.
Supermodel*Robot Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Ah, definitely a top fiver in my Green Day love list. I adore Billie's voice in this. He sounds so young & snotty & insecure. I also think the toilet flushing is a fantastic bonus. Their rhythms were so tight & chunky (I totally just invented that term but it makes sense to me) back then.
dallasthemenace Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 this song is in my top 5 gd tunes and hands down my favorite off of kerplunk. my favorite line is .."or did he hide away from hope, behind a smile and smoking dope..."this tune will make you think.
Mari91 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 really great song!i was actually listening to Kerplunk yesterday on the way to schooli think this is a song a lot of people can relate towhen i first heard the middle of this song i remember being shocked and replaying it over and over to see if there was a toilet really flushing lol
Hermione Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 For some reason, this one of my least favourite Green Day songs. It's my least favourite from Kerplunk aside from the extra songs on the end. But like all Green Day songs it's still a song I enjoy. I love the sentiment of the song, of wondering about the future, and the quirky way he puts it across in the lyrics talking about an "old man in woman's shoes" . At the same time the lyrics do make me cringe a little bit which is probably why it's one of my least favourites, but you'd certainly never get another song like it and I like that. So in the end it charms me more than it make me cringe. The "waste away-ay-ay" part is pretty cool too
gmcloughlin Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I love Android One of my favs off Kerplunk.Great choice

I had been surprised that everyone discussing it was leaving such positive comments. I'm glad to hear that someone else has had the same reaction that I had when I first heard it. I've grown to love it since, though .
shoegazeloser Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I fucking love this song. It's my least favourite from Kerplunk aside from the extra songs on the end. Sweet Children is like, the best EP.
Ila Reto Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 ^ but we're not talking about sweet children so sush up i kinda agree with Hermie & Jnet, it's an odd way to get a point across, but i think that's why it's so unique and a nice song overall. "when the old man was in schooldid the golden rules make him go crazy?or did he hide away from mostbehind a smile and smoking dopeit's crazy"it's like you can read what's going through his mind, he gets hit with this reflection of what he's doing and if it'll really turn out okay in the future if he continues his lifestyle.
