And since they posted about it on GD.com some people might have even joined the IC just for this. I've come to the conclusion that the IC is crap. Their only concern is getting people to part with their money to join.

I totally agree. Some days ago a friend of mine joined the IC only to have a possibility of winning the sound ceck, because she read about the 20 winners + guests on greenday.com. I noticed a lot of people became members in the last days only because of that contest. That's not fair.

But someone said on the IC that they didn't get in to the French one. So definitely more than 10 people applied. What if it isn't an error?

I am sure more than 10 people applied but not everyone was going to get in anyway, so there will always be someone left disappointed. The only error I can see is that whoever typed up the competition put 20+ a guest when it was probably 20 in total 10 IC members plus a guest each.

Lets just wait and see and not get our hopes up, the odds on getting in have now been chopped by half :/

You're right. They posted it on greenday.com and on their official facebook page, with the consequence that many people joined the IC only to be one of the 20 winners.

Like someone else wrote on the IC forum, this is one in a long line of miscommunications, mistakes that have been made in the contests. The IC should run these things with much more professionalism and organization.

It could have been error or it could have been any number of things, the venues do have a say in lot of situations - not saying it was the venue but who knows.

I wouldn't count on getting in anyway. That is just setting yourself up for disappointment and its not very realistic really.

I signed up and am not expecting to get in to any. If I do, it will be an added bonus, and if I don't then I don't. It was like that in the US, there were tons of people wanting in and most didnt get in. I think the fact that they don't have a sponsor like verizon and the IC are making an effort to get people in should make people happy, not angry and certainly not stressed.

But honestly I think you guys are spending way too much time worrying about this.

I'm sure if there hasnt been some sort of error that they purposely said 20 in order to get tons more people to join for the sake of it. And if they had've said they were only gonna let ten in from the start then i could understand.

But I can totally understand that they dont have a sponsor now such as verizon but why say they're gonna let 20 people + a guest in then when the time comes to announce winners they're only gonna let ten in :/

Of course we will Jax, this is bloody Green Day we're going to see <3 Only 3 flipping weeks now ARGHHH i dont feel prepared for it (although im secretly hoping each day will flash by like lightning ).

I was never expecting to get into soundcheck and that's not why I'm pissed off about this, getting in would just be a lucky bonus. I'm pissed off because the IC has set up a competition and hasn't delivered what it promised in the terms of that competition - it's false advertising!

People pay money to join the IC and some will have joined just for this competition since they thoughtfully decided to post about it on GD.com. The way this company treats it's customers is ridiculous and maybe if more people complained they might get their act together.
