dookiak Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 39 Smooth does exist. The first pressing was on black vinyl. Still technically considered a first pressing because it was right after that was a batch (800 made) of 39 Smooth on green vinyl. You'll know the originals with the Laytonville address on them, they didn't change to the Lookout Berkley address until '92. I can't tell you too much about the cassettes, but I know they initially did do some 39 Smooth tapes. I physically can vouch for the vinyl being real. Yes, this does exist. I remember seeing one on eBay several years ago. The seller said it was given to him when he interviewed the band for either a school newspaper or some zine. He said the band told him that they would never sign to a major label, lol. I don't remember how much it sold for but it was more than what I had at the time, I think I was still in high school, so 2004 or before.
dawn71 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I have a vintage Kerplunk tour flyer. Might even be the tour before. $7 ticket price. Still trying to find a value for it. I have several of those and some pre - Kerplunk ones too when tickets cost $5.00. I was told a while back they value around $20.00 - $30.00 depending on the condition of it.
green day is Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Look for Love. I have made it my official life goal to acquire a copy of this. Yes, I've heard the digital versions, but to have it on vinyl?? I wouldn't let anyone touch it.
heyohbilliejoe Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 i have a nimrod hoodie which i think is quite unusual. i mean, i know that nimrod hoodies aren't unusual, but most of them have this on the front: but mine looks like this on the front: and this on the back: its more the layout of it which seems unusual to me... but i dunno... maybe its not rare. but i haven't seen one like it before i <3 it i bought it from a vintage shop in camden for £15
Zelda Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I don't own anything that could be considered rare. And the better question would be, what do I NOT want? There's so much merch that's on my wishlist it's not even funny.
Talliver Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have a dookie tour t shirt from 1994. i bought it in philly. i havent seen it on ebay or on google image search, except for one UK ebay listing where the front is the same, but the back is different. ill try and post a pic. im thinking about unloading it but dont have a clue what this stuff goes for.
Jet Taman Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Even though it's not really rare, I have the Dookie CD with "elmo" on the back cover. What's weird about it is that I bought that in a normal music store... elmo? do you mean ernie? or else i would consider it REALLY rare This one, right? I've got it too!
Ritz Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have the FBHT album. Its rare cos its hardly available in India
LazyPhil Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 This one, right? I've got it too! Wait, so you mean the one with ernie on the back is not the rare one?
porksoda Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 The rarest thing I have is the 3pk of International Superactionfigures. However, when I met The Frustrators, the record store they were at had a copy of Money Money 2020, and my friend bought it and had Mike sign it. I wanted it, but I didn't have the money and she did. I gotta wonder how rare and valuable that is...
uhleckseee Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have a few things that are "kinda" rare, but nowhere near the stuff in this thread. -Heart Like A Hand Grenade poster from the premiere in Hollywood And then I bought some things from someone on this thread a while back, this is what it included: -Two stickers that I've never seen before, so I'm assuming they're rare? idk -Box set of 7" vinyls up until 21st Century Breakdown (the one they only printed something like 1500 of) -Set of long shooters (probably sold at Spencer's at some point) A friend of mine also recently found a guitar pick from the American Idiot musical randomly at LAX and gave it to me. I have no idea who it came from.
Bam13 Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have a Look for Love vinyl (no cover). And I snagged a CD copy of The Boo. A bunch of the colored vinyls (pink and red Dookie, purple Superhits, and others). A set of the action figures in rare colors (Billie in a red shirt, Tre with green hair, Mike in jeans). CD single box set from 2000 and the vinyl single box set. One of the metal rings in a heart grenade box from American Idiot. There's other stuff... And I wasn't aware that 39/Smooth had a green vinyl...
Todd Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Vinyl box set isn't rare. I have a warning promo floor sign Japanese singles box set (1999, not 2000) American Idiot Cassette 1000 Hours Pink sleeve
Yaz. Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 The rarest things I probably have are my two copies of 1,000 hours (1st pressing black vinyl+4th pressing w papered over Berkeley address), my green Slappy, Sweet Children (Japanese fanclub edition), and my 2 Minority vinyls (Clear and Grey) I have a question about the Slappy EPs, whenever i'm hunting for coloured copies I come across the green one and even that is rarely; but how come there are never any other colours around? Did they press less of them or am I just unlucky with timing
Jon Benjamin Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I have a yellow "warning" guitar pick Billie used to record "Holiday". Rare enough? http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/sherlock.gifNot to bump an old post but how do you know he used it to record holiday?

alecandstuff Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Not sure if this would be considered rare yet, but the most "rare" item I have in my collection is a 4x6ft promo poster for Uno that they posted in some major cities around the world
DookieDerp Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I've also got a 1994 Dookie Tour shirt I bought from the US a few years ago, no idea if its rare or not?
Insomniac85 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Back in the late 90's I had two bootlegs. Eating My Boogers and Kiss My Green Ass. wish I still had those. they got stolen.
