Hermione Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Not so good single choices = not so good album sales
94th nimrod. Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I'm so proud over them!!! I don't care about what other people think or mean, I love them!!!
mallorymaloney Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I wonder if 21BD sales'll ever top American Idiots sales ...?
Tubbie Head Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I think I'm an eternal teenie...it's in the sig!I think we all have our moments.Hahha.. I know.. I am too xDNot so good single choices = not so good album saleshahha.. East Jesus Nowhere.. East Jesus Nowhere.. where are you?
thisisAB Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I love how he calls them losers I wanna see him try and sell 750,000 albums. I'm actaully surprised it hasn't hit a million yet.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Horseshoes and handgrenades would get more people to like Green Day.
iLozza! Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Horseshoes and handgrenades would get more people to like Green Day.I forced one of my chavvy friends to listen to it and he said it had an epic intro, but he'd still rather listen to The Prodigy (<3)The album hasn't been out, that long, so the record sales weren't going to be massively high. However, if hose figures haven't changed much in a year, then that's quite sad.
Luci_Minority Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Horseshoes and handgrenades would get more people to like Green Day.I love that song!!! I hope will be a single!!
KCoyote Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Horseshoes and handgrenades would get more people to like Green Day.I would agree, I love that song Am I the only one who found it fuckin hilarious that he put Maxwell in the Honorable Mentions but Green Day in the losers? xD

Believe me,I know people who don't even know Green Day released a new album. :/ And I made my cousin hear H&H and he hates Green Day. But he loved it.
Katarina. Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 As long as we can listen to their awesome music, I'm happy Btw, just wait till the other singles come out.. Hopefully EJN and RHS/BTL/AE..
amy_runs Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I wonder if 21BD sales'll ever top American Idiots sales ...?I doubt it
alaniluau Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 "Other losers" They're certainly not losers in my book.
Brian Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 His face is a loser. but anyway, its still an impressive number.
HB KID Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 You shouldn't expect good results because I think it's not better than American Idiot.
Blu Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Not so good single choices = not so good album salesI think 21 Guns was good, but Know Your Enemy wasn't strong enough and 21st Century Breakdown isn't going to be strong enough. They aren't choosing songs that will hook people. I don't know what they are thinking. There are so many strong songs on the album, yet they are picking the ones that are lower on the attention grabbing scale.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I think these should have been the singlesKYERHSpeacemakerAmerican EulogyHorseshoes And handgrenadesand maybe 21 guns or EJN.cause 21 guns is doing fuckin great on the teenies at my school.
Fulano Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I don't like to see green day on mainstream...so fuck the estimates of sold copies...i think that less than 40% of who buys green day discs are real fans...
thisisAB Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I think these should have been the singlesKYERHSpeacemakerAmerican EulogyHorseshoes And handgrenadesI would go:Horseshoes and Handgrenades (good hook as lead lingle as it connects to American Idiot)Restless Heart Syndrome (underrated song, amazing single potential, and similar to BOBD which did well, plus cool song name)East Jesus Nowhere (for obvious reasons unnecessary to be stated)Peacemaker (good follow up to EJN, very unique song too, you normally don't hear songs like this)21st Century Breakdown (apart from being a great song, a good closing single because it kind of brings back the album)
FreakingGreenDayFan Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I THINK I'VE GOT THE ALMOST RIGHT SALES. THE NEW ALBUM HAS BEEN A LITTLE DISAPPOINTMENT THOUGH IT REASHED NUMBER 1 IN 14 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND IN THE TOP 10 OF ALMOST EVERY. NOW IT'S OUT OF THE WORLD TOP 40 AND 96 IN THE USA. BUT HERE ARE THE SALES FOR THE ALBUM AND THE SINGLES:KNOW YOUR ENEMY 1,2 MILLION21 GUNS 1,56 MILLION21st CENTURY BREAKDOWN 2,3 MILLION COPIESIF YOU HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THESE SALES, PLEASE REPLY TO MY COMMENT!AND THEY SHOUL RELEASE:AMERICAN EULOGYBEFORE THE LOBOTOMY THE STATIC AGE AS SINGLESHOPE RHS TOO BUT NO;(
Tiffx Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I honestly don't care if they're not 'popular' anymore. It's not going to be the same as the AI era which is totally okay with me. yeah the singles have been shitty choices, 21CB should have been the first single. But as long as the fans enjoy the music, it's all good.
FreakingGreenDayFan Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 One reason that the album doesn't not sell is Walmart, isn't that the biggest record seller in the US?But I think the singles have been awsome the biggest songs on the record. Why don't you all think even close the same??
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 There is also a simple fact that this type of music is not what is popular right now. Hip Hop and all that stuff is still massively outselling anything else. Plus AI happened to be 'in' at the time it was out; it was flavour of the month, so to speak. People bought that album who will never buy a GD album again. Kids bought it, parents bought it for their kids, it was just one of those records. Sales don't really mean anything when it comes down to it.I think the album has done great considering all the above and the fact it's promotion has been rubbish.
Smoothed Out Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 That's still a good amount and now EJN & 21st CB videos have been released, what with the UK tour, that's bound to boost it a bit.Congrats anyway!
