Nova-Caine Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 i was never a big fan of GD and NRDC. Yes you can kill me now.Me too, each to their own.
Angela. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Haha, look at Billie with his sunglasses, and he's not even in the sun. What a diva. Just kidding, I know it's so you can't tell that he's reading off the speech. Even though it's still obvious. Why is it obvious? Because there aren't a million "you know" lines thrown in.Edit: I like that GD is involved in this.
Kryssi. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Woah, I didn't think they were still doing this.
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'm afraid I didn't catch much of that because I was too busy trying to work out why Billie had his eyes closed behind those stylish shades. Had he gone blind? Nah just looking down reading the script the entire time
Rae'n'shine Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 For a second, I thought he was just rambling in his sleep and a camera just happened to capture it.Just kidding, I really like GD being active in NRDC
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Lol we are so mean He should've worn darker sunglasses if he wanted to be sneaky
Welshy Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 It's cool they still do this, but I imagine Green Day's global footprint is probably pretty big (not as bad as other well known bands), travelling around in busses and obviously all the power that they use for their shows. But its totally worth the sacrifice...amazing Green Day show or possibly prolong the ice caps melting?
Sarahnade. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 What a monotone Billie is. I want to steal his shirt, jacket, shades, and the bowl of fruit next to him.Woah, I didn't think they were still doing this.My exact thought. I'm glad they are, though. I always thought it was cool.
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 It must suck though to do this and then have everyone talk about your shades and t-shirt rather than the topic at hand. No wonder he seems unenthusiastic.
LouLou Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I like how him being so unenthusiastic is getting way more attention than the purpose of the video.
Sarahnade. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hopefully, there will be more videos soon; longer ones with all three guys talking about environmental issues. This felt like an introduction and a welcome back sorta thing.I'm happy they are still doing this; I totally forgot about Green Day + NRDC. I have the dogtag necklace - I'm gonna have to find it and start sporting it daily again.
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 We all know it's a good thing that he does these videos, that doesn't mean everyone has to make an identical earnest post about it. I'd say the fact he's never looked particularly enthusiastic in any of these videos indicates he probably wouldn't be particularly bothered by our lighthearted reaction. I agree with the message but that doesn't mean I have to take it deadly seriously.

No wonder he seems unenthusiastic. Not everyone cares bout the topic Lorraine, we don't have to like everything he does, it was just a bit of fun, he loves and cares about that NRDC thing great I don't. xWe all know it's a good thing that he does these videos, that doesn't mean everyone has to make an identical earnest post about it. Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 ^Plus he did choose a very eye catching outfit
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 There's not really much point in doing a video that's meant to raise awareness and debate if you're going to sound to unenthusiastic. Someone could have at least told him, it's painful. Also, I like how I've got fancier sunglasses than Billie
gmcloughlin Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 ^Plus he did choose a very eye catching outfit I concur
Trina Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Oh, Billie Joe. I love you dearly, but I wish you understood that this global warning shit was all just a conspiracy. Also, I love the way he's wearing dark sunglasses so you 'can't tell' he's reading his speech off. Aww. Bless him, he thinks he's doing the right thing. Can't really blame 'im.There's no need to be condesending towards a 37 year old man you don't know, who is clearly more intelligent than you. He is doing the right thing. Are you for real?!
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I know not everyone has to agree with it, but I do, and always have and it has nothing to do with Billie.I'm guessing this was shot in NYC because the NRDC were there, so it was probably a spur of the moment thing.
HoneyDo666 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Awww Billie. I love him. I think it's great that they care so much, and he's probably exhausted!Looks damn fine though!
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'm not criticising him for not memorizing it and I don't think it takes away from the message. It's the fact he's lending his name to it that does good, not his presentation skills. But the addition of those sunglasses happen to make it amusing to watch, is all
