*withoutadoubt* Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ^That. But not at "We are the class of - the class of '13"...instead, have all the monitors cut to a montage of the original Woodstock and *then* set off the explosions just as Tre and Mike crank up the rythm at "Raised by the bastards of nineteen-sixty-niiiiiiinnnneeee!!!" I love your video ideas!! Why don't you send them a resume The more I think about this, the more I like the idea of this song as the next single - it really is a great song with powerful lyrics and kick-ass changes and really gets me going every time I hear it.
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 All I can say is, 21st Century Breakdown has a very high potential to have a kick-ass music video, and I hope that Marc Webb realizes this. Personally, yeah I would've loved to see EJN as a single, but 21stCB in my opinion is the more powerful song while EJN is the more controversial song.

Ila Reto Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 i really dont care that it's a single, im not attached to the song, so if teenies butcher it i could really care less, because the demo was already butchered to make the album version.
Mari91 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Really?! Thank you! That's very kind of you. (I'm terrible at making these kinds of things and just sort of played around with it. It's nothing compared to the truly incredible work I've seen on here.)lol yeah! its a cute concept! i love it
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Oh my god 12 pages.I hope they anounce where they are gonna film it.
mad hatter. Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Am I the only one that can't see this getting a lot of radio love? Then again, no other recent singles have.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 ^^But's it's not a single yet is it? The just said it would be their NEXT single. Plus,my radios give 21 guns loads of love.
The Daughter of Rage and Love Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Plus,my radios give 21 guns loads of love. Mine don't. If I want to hear 21 Guns, I have to tune in to this station out of Canada.

-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 No offense taken, since I completely agree with you! There's absolutely no variety. :down:Yeah,I stayed for two months in New Jersey, and the only Green Day song I heared was J.A.R.
The Daughter of Rage and Love Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yeah,I stayed for two months in New Jersey, and the only Green Day song I heared was J.A.R. What?! I've never heard that one on the radio before!
*withoutadoubt* Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 All I can say is, 21st Century Breakdown has a very high potential to have a kick-ass music video, and I hope that Marc Webb realizes this. Personally, yeah I would've loved to see EJN as a single, but 21stCB in my opinion is the more powerful song while EJN is the more controversial song.I think a lot of their songs could be considered 'controversial' depending how you look at them and interpret the lyrics. I'm sure some people would consider some of the lyrics of 21 CB controversial just in a less obvious way.EJN has blatant, obvious controversy - comparing organized religion to a 'dog that's been sodomized'. You don't have to interpret those lyrics, lol. Sometimes it's the ones that you have to really think about - the clever way he chooses to express things that really impresses me about Billie Joe's writing. And I agree with you about the video - it needs big stuff!! Stuff of epic proportions.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 What?! I've never heard that one on the radio before! Well I heared it. Yes,21st Century Breakdown is one of the most powerful, meaningful, song on the album. This needs big stuff. something thats higher value than the song itself. So I'll be waiting for a great fuckin video.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Does anybody know when and where this is being filmed? Please say its LA, and please say its this month, before the 19th! Because I'm still here, and would love to find them. Where are they filming? When? Oh god, I'm so excited. Today is a great day, especially because its my birthday.I think they need to film the video in Oakland or Berkeley for a change, give the video some hometown flavor
The Muffin Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 hmm this should be interesting.I just hope they won't do it like they did the KYE video.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I think they need to film the video in Oakland or Berkeley for a change, give the video some hometown flavornnooo...I need one more chance to try to find it.Let it be here in L.A. For KYE,i was all over downtown. Didn't find them.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 nnooo...I need one more chance to try to find it.Let it be here in L.A. For KYE,i was all over downtown. Didn't find them. :down:They haven't shot a video in the Bay Area in I don't even know how long, its time they come home to shoot a video
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 They haven't shot a video in the Bay Area in I don't even know how long, its time they come home to shoot a videoyeah i guess you're right.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 yeah i guess you're right.awww dont be sad, you know they will do lots more videos in LA too
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I don't think it's that much of a surprise that they've gone with a 'safer' single. Warners have lost a shit load of money this past year and they're not going to spend millions on a 'risky' single that they're unlikely to get their money back on. Especially after the last two singles didn't exactly set the world on fire. That being said, I think East Jesus Nowhere would have been a bit one dimensional and radio/tv might have butchered it anyway.
heartscollide Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 a certain mod told me it was gonna be EJN...I love this song anywayyyy
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 awww dont be sad, you know they will do lots more videos in LA too it's okay... :/ Lol yes a certain mod told us EJN was next. personally,i've noticed that, green day always has like 5 singles for each album. so we have 21st CB,KYE,21 guns and two more spots.its gonna be two from :EJN static age,or american eulogy. :/
