norcalgreendayfan Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Wasnt EJN CONFIRMED?Or was Courtney talking bullshit? Maybe Courtney just got the wrong info
Rae'n'shine Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I'd love to see something along those lines. Imagine starting out with some grainy, black and white, "old 35mm movie-projector style" footage of a 1940's or 1950's era set-top radio being tuned over the initial SOTC static, then Billie's vocals kick in, the hand tuning the radio moves away as the camera slowly zooms in on the set. Then at the end of SOTC, the person who was fiddling with the radio turns the set off, cut to "now" in full color HD widescreen with Freese playing the D-A chord, and so on.... Yes! This is what I was picturing! Except for Jason Freese being in the video, which would be really cool, but I don't see it happening. If Bayer was doing this video, he would go for the "old 35mm movie-projector style." I don't see Webb doing that, but I hope he surprises me with something that blows my mind. If he doesn't...sadness will occur.
watsername182 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I was really hoping for East Jesus Nowhere to be the next single.Oh well.
greenbear Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Sounds like the label bottled out of releasing EJN which I'm sure was the intended next single.I love 21st CB as a single but it should definitely have been the first single to draw people into the album. KYE works really well on the album but no way should it have been a single. I'm worried EJN might not be a single at all now and I really love that song The Static age and Last night on Earth would be the most commercially succesful singles if releasd IMO.
Reject All American Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I think a really cool video would be a little something like this...... start it off all staticky, then have Billie's face appear, as he sings "Song of the Century". Then have him walk off towards the rest of the band, and have them play in a room full of stacks and stacks of TV's, playing stuff like presidential speeches, the fall of the berlin wall etc.... Then when "The Class of `13" part starts, have all the Tv's explode and have sparks rain down on the band.

I would loovee Static Age though.
Moz Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yesss! that's a surprise, but i'm glad this is the next single, cos i think i prefer it to EJN. But i wonder why EJN's been played on the radio and this hasn't...?
Astrid. Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 That's great. I always hoped it would be 21st Century Breakdown I simply love that song much more than EJN
Guest jetblackheart Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Haha, I hope Marc Webb doesn't read these comments, because everyone's like "I hope he doesn't fuck it up this time!". :D I like his work, I really do! I think the biggest problem is that we don't think anyone's good enough for our guys.
Soroush Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 21st century breakdown is a great song but I want east jesus nowhere first what if they never make a video for it. That's the last day of my life. I love east jesus nowhere
Princess Consuela Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Good to hear about the next single. I was pretty sure it'd be East Jesus Nowehere but 21st Century Breakdown isn't bad either
Isabel Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I don't think it's a case of them necessarily making bad calls on what singles to release next (because they're all just amazing songs  ) it's fact that the videos so far have been so terribly made. (I think, anyway)I think they should have begun with 21st Century Breakdown. An interesting beginning to a journey of mind blowing and wildly creative songs. It's broken into 3 parts and I know it has the potential to stand on a similar level with American Idiot. It would have been great to hear that song released first. It really does give an excellent flavour to what the album is about. It was a bit strange that they chose Know Your Enemy as the first single. But it was going to be released as a single anyway, so I suppose it's not the end of the world that it was done first. But the video was absolutely terrible. Sam Bayer set the bar so high with American Idiot and Marc Webb did an absolutely awful job, in my opinion. Same with 21 Guns. I think the real issue is the poor direction of the videos, as opposed to which singles should be released when.Everyone wants different singles to be released. It's a difference of opinion, like I'd much rather prefer 21st Century Breakdown than East Jesus Nowhere but just say they chose EJN first, it doesn't mean it was a band choice of for the next single. I'm sure they know exactly what they're doing and why they've selected each ones when they have.
EmmOuGR Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I was sure that EJN would be the next one as well but 21Cb is a great choice too..I can't wait for the video!
The Disappearing Boy Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 i hope they don't include sotc at the start. the beginning of the song is boring enough without it.
minorityxdisturbed Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I really want to know how it's the video going to be, and I want to hear it on the radio soon, and I don't think that they will include sotc, becouse it's a song apart
Greenday_Aussie Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Its looking more likely that Static Age is next up/last.Im thinking, they need to loose the softies. They arent doing well enough this time. Static Age and EJN FTW. These will get GD back on top.
Eighty. Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I'm really exited to see the video! yeaaaaaaah
Greenday_Aussie Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I get the feeling (well I hope) its like Jesus of Suburbia, but more bright and happy and more shots of Green Day. Like, its a got a story going, but cuts to GD every so often.
Tubbie Head Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I hope that Billie still has his hair like this: in the video!!!!
Kaddi. Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Awesome choice I knew that 21st CB would be released as a single, but I thought it was going to be after EJN. Well, anyway... I kinda liked the 21 Guns video, but I hope this guy (Marc Webb?) will do something great for 21st CB. Sam Bayer, Sam Bayer, Sam Bayer!
Eighty. Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I hope that Billie still has his hair like this: http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu63/re...lie/610x-26.jpgin the video!!!! Do you really like it??I prefer without it!! but I don't care
