norcalgreendayfan Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I admit that was a pretty piss poor article
BIBARAGURORIA Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 That review was just laughable. I'm better at paying attention to the main point of what I'm writing than he does, and I have ADHD and the flu.I can't be bothered to get upset over this article. Aidin Vaziri is a joke and not worth my time.
dolce Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Journalists who aren't at all diplomatic when speaking about a certain subject just make themselves sound stupid. Not saying that people who write crap like that don't upset me, because it is rude and really harsh, but what are you gonna do? I comment on as many crappy articles I can, and that makes me feel better.
dolce Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Here's a more thoughtful critique written by a fan who is unhappy with their current musical trend. It was posted on nothingwrongwithme.comhttp://mikeamin.blogspot.com/2009/08/requiem-green-day.htmlThat was a far better written critique with a better argument to it, but it still shows through that he's one of those "They're not punk anymore, oh my god!" people. Whenever I read stuff where people are complaining that a band lost their sound, it always makes me think that they just don't appreciate music that much. Shouldn't music lovers embrace the evolution of bands they like? Who wants to listen to the same stuff for 20 years from the same band? I know I don't!I thought this was pretty funny: "The band themselves started to sound like egomaniacs in interviews". If Green Day is made up of three egomaniacs than I guess I've never seen a real interview of them. IMPOSTORS!

Wolfdemon Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Just another writer who refuses to see Green Day as grown men with families and no longer immature kids. No big deal.
-Billiejoezee- Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 This is retared. whatever ithat is retared is not true. so don't listen to this.but i really didn;t like what they said about warning. What is it with warning and everyone?? I LOVE warning!anyways..if you read the comments on that page,it seems this guy always writes lame, retared reviews.
norcalgreendayfan Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Just another writer who refuses to see Green Day as grown men with families and no longer immature kids. No big deal. Its still amazing how many writers can't seem to grasp the fact that the guys from Green Day actually grew up
greendaytone Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I can't see where Green Day borrowed from The Beatles and Oasis for American Idiot. Can anyone else?
LetItBeHappy Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 American Idiot (2004)Borrowing liberally from the Beatles, the Who and, er, Oasis, the band crafted a vaguely political rock opera stuffed with power ballads and epic song suites.THAT ONE HURT! THAT GUY IS GOING TO MY "TO KILL LIST" (my to kill list has two people: This guy and John Lennon's killer)The Beatles... eh... uh... maybe some rythm in extraordinary girl or something like that?
rage-love-life Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 How old is he? 13? Cause he certainly writes that way.I really disagree about the Waring "review" cause it's great in its own way, and it doesn't "fall flat"
Wolfdemon Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I can't see where Green Day borrowed from The Beatles and Oasis for American Idiot. Can anyone else?He means "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" vs Osais' "Wonderwall" that's always the comparison.
MusicalDeviant Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I'm sorry, we care about this review because? I mean, lets face it, the Chronicle makes the LA Times look semi respectable. Its not exactly the pinnacle of news journalism. So when I see any lousy review of Green Day in said paper, I just can't help but wonder why 1) there is no sense of bay-area pride for the band in the article, leading me to suspect the author's from elsewhere, and 2) how many positive music reviews he has written, and about whom.I mean, the NY times likes green day, and that's the largest, most respected news paper we got in this country. So I really don't give a shit when some random reporter from the Chronicle decides to shit all over Green Day and the great things the band does for humanity. And by "humanity," I of course mean "me."
