Lauren Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 The best part is that if you say just ass, it gets censored. So that's a lesson for all the kids out there, if you wanna say ass on tv, just say asshole. wtf? that's so weird oh, and what I love about FUSE is that as long as the music isn't the main thing, they won't censor it. I've heard AI playing in the background and it was uncensored. Also, FUSE doesn't censor stupid things like "God" or "hole"
SlappyDJ1 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I was looking through the radio stations site, and I saw something on 21 guns but nothing on EJN. But I did learn that the slipknot drummer is not dying.
Sarahnade. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 People shouldn't censor this song. Just..no.Because they are singing about something important? Because they have enough guts to question something that needs to be questioned? If I'm thinking right, the only bad word in the song is "goddamn," right? So, if they really need to, just edit that out. Don't change around the lyrics to make a completley differernt song.

I heard it about 11:30-midnight last night but the playlist has no times so you can't scroll to it that way. I'm gonna call them and see if I can get them to play it again. lol

somedaygirl Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 So not the sections we're talking about, Slappy?
SlappyDJ1 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 So not the sections we're talking about, Slappy?huh? Im confused.
Aurora Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I found two websites that said this was the radio "edit", but there's no editing done.http://bbs.greendayfans.cn/tears/mp3/East_Jesus_Now_Here.mp3
mallorymaloney Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Calm down, much?They probably haven't rewrote the song, if anything the station has just butchered it. Do you really think after the Wal Mart thing that they'd edit a song for airplay? They want this song to ruffle feathers, they've already said that. But the radio will edit it how they want.Excuse me for being passionate about my favourite music. Plus, y'know, I'm known to be excitable and sarcastic about things. o_o;
somedaygirl Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 huh? Im confused.I meant the part you heard in the 22 sec clip didn't contain the lyrics that were changed. (Edit: I got it to work...it just plays the same clip each time which isn't the section with changed lyrics.)The phone to the station is constantly busy so I haven't gotten thru.
Trotsky Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 In the studio, vocalists usually sing lyrics in a lot of different ways and record all of them until they decide what they want. Most likely - Warner sent these demo vocals to radio stations for editing. Seriously, I'm surprised how fast you people accuse Green Day of things.

Im still gonna be recording.I found two websites that said this was the radio "edit", but there's no editing done.http://bbs.greendayfans.cn/tears/mp3/East_Jesus_Now_Here.mp3I listened to it. Its just bad quality with someone talking in another language at the beginning.
Guest Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 i guess im just gonna listen to this radio station until they play it...hahaha
mad hatter. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I'm feeling a little disappointed in the boys at the moment. The went toe to toe with Walmart to preserve the intergrity of the music without editing and then don't just edit but actually rewrite for radio.that's the first thing i thought when i read your post, tbh.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 that's the first thing i thought when i read your post, tbh. There is no proof they have re-written anything yet. After all these years, why would they?
somedaygirl Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 All I know is what I heard, which left me very surprised. I suppose it's possible the station found a sound alike or clip edited together different lyrics and did the rewriting without notifying the artist they did that.
SlappyDJ1 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 all of GDC should call in and request EJN! I dont know the number though.
Blu Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 The radio changed it? It's been on KROQ since before the record came out, technically. The few times I've heard it I honestly never noticed a difference. I guess I never paid that much attention. Huh.
jose armstrong Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 never heard it and probably never will since I never listen to radio 0_0I am curious, indeed.

I suppose it's possible the station found a sound alike or clip edited together different lyrics and did the rewriting without notifying the artist they did that.I just explained how it works. There is no proof they have re-written anything yet. After all these years, why would they?Meh, they're in the mob mentality stage, can't be reasoned with.
jose armstrong Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I feel bad for not being alert in the GD news world, I kinda knew EJN would be the next single, but never heard for a fact that it is.
