WorryRock02 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 mhmh i can often hear on my favorite radio station last of the american girl however during may i also listen to EJN and was the same of the album... i do't know. i can't believe they rewrited that song...no
Astrid. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 what just came to my mind:I can remember a song that included about 500 fucks. I think the song was by a German rapper. And I'm sure that they didn't edit anything. Not on mtv, not on the radio.lol that's many fucks. And what about Fuck You by Lily Allen? Here it's not censored or rewritten for the radio. But as it looks to me, the word 'fuck' is not such a big deal anymore. It's more the sentences like '' like a dog's that been sodomized" that'll get attention
mallorymaloney Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 WHAT?! EJN really is the new single ...? I thought Courtney was just telling everyone that because she wanted it to be true!WHAT?! THEY FUCKING REWROTE FUCKING LINES?! FOR THE RADIO?!What?! What?! Why would Green Day fucking do that?! I'm sorry, but right now I'm fucking raging. I'd expect it from someone like Avril. She's always had rewritten radio versions of her songs. But Green Day?!My face is heating up right now. This only happens when I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY angry. What the fuck can we do about this, you guys? Can't we fucking do anything?

What the fuck can we do about this, you guys? Can't we fucking do anything?Calm down, much? They probably haven't rewrote the song, if anything the station has just butchered it. Do you really think after the Wal Mart thing that they'd edit a song for airplay? They want this song to ruffle feathers, they've already said that. But the radio will edit it how they want.
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 lol that's many fucks. And what about Fuck You by Lily Allen? Here it's not censored or rewritten for the radio. But as it looks to me, the word 'fuck' is not such a big deal anymore. It's more the sentences like '' like a dog's that been sodomized" that'll get attentionthey did censor the fuck in American Idiot :/they censored cocaine in Jesus of Suburbia :/what makes me wonder is that they didn't censor the "Sieg Heil" in Holiday ?!?!
Astrid. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 In america cencorship is everywhere. exept in the middle of the night on comedy central. That sucks bad ass :/Here it's only in american shows. Like Pimp Your Ride. Last time I saw it there were a few bleeps.they did censor the fuck in American Idiot :/they censored cocaine in Jesus of Suburbia :/what makes me wonder is that they didn't censor the "Sieg Heil" in Holiday ?!?!No, as far as I can remember they didn't censored anything here on the radio. Dutch radio stations are easy as it seems
somedaygirl Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Wait, if testified is in there twice are you sure the station haven't just copy and pasted another line from the song? They do that with Longview when it comes on TV, so the same line is in there twice, or two lines are in there twice. I've seen it on a lot of songs and it sounds odd.I can't see them rewriting the song for radio, at allNo it's not a repeat of "raise your hands and testify". The rewritten line is "(something else entirely) testified".
Luci_Minority Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I didn't know EJN is the new single either.Me too But I'm happy for that mhmh i can often hear on my favorite radio station last of the american girlMe too!!
Marlon_GD Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 No, as far as I can remember they didn't censored anything here on the radio. Dutch radio stations are easy as it seemsBelgian radio stations are really easy too... We never get anything censored. Not a Shit, not a fuck, not a sieg heil or something like that. But I surely hope that there is at least an uncensored version coming out on tv/radio.
Astrid. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Maybe they got forced to rewrite it otherwise they wouldn't get airplay? Sounds very wrong to do but the music business has great power.. :/
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 No it's not a repeat of "raise your hands and testify". The rewritten line is "(something else entirely) testified".I don't know, then. But I can honestly say i'd be very surprised if the band changed it themselves. After Wal Mart, after swearing live on air on TV, I just don't see it happening, what point they'd see in it.Which station was this?
Eirik Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Are you sure they didn't just mash some verses together to make it shorter? If someone says "asshole", they censor ass, but not hole.Incorrect, they cencor hole, not ass.
Lauren Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 TV has much more freedom of speech indeed.Like, if you look at Gordon Ramsey (that cooking dude) all he's saying is 'fuck fuck fucking fuck'. It's not censored at all. But if you look at mtv, they do censor parts. Bit strangewell like i said, they want more viewers. That was to expect. But it still sucks I just heard 21Guns in the radio and they cut out the middle part, the best part actually. Okay, it´s not the same but still because it's like too freaking long! JOS and Homecoming are okay because they're like 5 songs in one, but omg 21 Guns never ends!!!
*Green_girl* Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 this is pissing me off so much. there are so much crap on radio that gets played, but when something actually makes sense they have to cut it off, this is ridiculous.Freedom of speach? yeah right.
Lauren Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Incorrect, they cencor hole, not ass. whoops, that's what i meant thanks for pointing it out, i'll go edit it.

Agija Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 That's just ridiculous. I see no point in censorship. Everyone knows those words, anyway. And I need to hear the edited version.
Lauren Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Maybe they got forced to rewrite it otherwise they wouldn't get airplay? Sounds very wrong to do but the music business has great power.. :/makes sense to me. not selling to Wal Mart is one thing because it's just one store... but if your song can't be played on the radio... well that's losing the opportunity to gain a lot of new listeners.
Astrid. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 http://www.thebuzz.com/main.htmlCan't listen to it. I'm non-american.Sucks :/
Anja Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 what just came to my mind:I can remember a song that included about 500 fucks. I think the song was by a German rapper. And I'm sure that they didn't edit anything. Not on mtv, not on the radio.Yeah, but that´s in Germany. They´ll probably won´t even censor the song for most european stations. At least, I hope so.They didn´t take out the "fuck" in Bobd.
Astrid. Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 makes sense to me. not selling to Wal Mart is one thing because it's just one store... but if your song can't be played on the radio... well that's losing the opportunity to gain a lot of new listeners.Yeah. Wal Mart is laughing out loud now.. but still they did get airplay
Eirik Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 whoops, that's what i meant thanks for pointing it out, i'll go edit it. The best part is that if you say just ass, it gets censored. So that's a lesson for all the kids out there, if you wanna say ass on tv, just say asshole.
