The Black Eyed Peas are fun, but won't win Album of the Year, they weren't nominated for their last album and this one's more of the same.

U2 have won twice, its time for a change, but they're Grammy favorites.

Taylor Swift is a mediocre songwriter and a terrible singer.

Green Day have another amazing album and I think it's their year, but they do have strong competition from U2 and Kings of Leon.

The critics hated Kanye's album and he can't sing. He should stick to rapping.

Taylor Swift won't win album of the year. Maybe like "Best New Artist" or something like that, but her album is most definitely not album of the year by Grammy standards (or anyone else's - at least I hope not!). I mean, she's okay, but she certainly wouldn't win over the likes of Green Day, U2, and Kanye.

Kanye West won't win either, I don't think. His album, from what I've read, was not well received by critics, which I think plays a pretty significant role in who wins (for better or worse).

How did U2's cd do? I didn't think that really did so hot either, but I could be wrong.

In my eyes, Green Day is by far the best of the group (and just the best, period). They deserve it so much. I know awards aren't important, but the way Billie's face lit up when they've won in the past is priceless. I'd love to see that look on his face again.

I don't think it will be nominated. American Idiot was enormous, selling 10 million albums in an age when albums are no longer purchased. It revitalized Green Day's career and rock in general. 21CB hasn't garnered that much attention.

^I agree. Its all about marketing and impact. Compared to 'American Idiot' its less. Still a great album. But from their perspective that is how they will see it. It hasn't sold as much.

No chance in hell they're gonna win album of the year. Not with Taylor fucking Swift or Ufucking2, of Kanyego West.

Here's the thing, being Grammy-friendly is the same as being Radio Friendly and sadly and bunch of tar-heads in the Grammy Academy still think they are the band that sings about masturbation.

My bet is Taylor Swift. You see she is everywhere, on every radio station, every TV station. She is HUGE now and she will win. Same with Kanye; he is everywhere and has been promoting for a very long time on his new record with a lot of singles. Sure bet its one of them. Now I don't think U2 will get it because I cannot recall their latest single, or have heard of it I guess. And if I haven't heard it that means there are some other's whom haven't either because its not played a lot. I love Green Day and hope they win but there is a slight chance with them as competition.

But I will try to stay optimistic and say they have a chance and I hope that they get it.

Green Day have an excellent shot! The Grammy's want good ratings, Green Day can pull in all their fans from across the globe.

I think the VMAs will make them the "hot" band again. Then, the good buzz will get them some more wonderful awards!

It's only been 3 months and the album is almost platinum!

Give it some time! The sold-out European tour will help in Europe, and they'll probably do some press in September to promote the musical and they're performing at the VMAs!

There will be plenty of Green Day coming soon! Super pumped!

I don't think the VMAs will help the band much, because they won't win many, if any, awards in it. They do have a pretty big chance at winning Best Rock Album and quite possibly Album of the Year at the Grammy's. If Kanye wins Album of the Year, I am going to be so pissed. 808s and Heartbreak was probably the shittiest thing he's ever done. Going to say that Lady Gaga might actually have a chance and Whitney Houston too but that's Whitney.
