blc Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 on the way home from v fest yesterday, my friend suggested that we needed a song to sum up the weekend, so we listened to good riddannce. was cheesy, yet gooood.
leacalifornia Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 when people ask me why I did something I always say"gotta live it up cause life goes on"
fashionvictim86 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 "Who the hell are you to tell me, what I am, and what's my master plan?"I've used that a lot.We also used Time of Your Life on our graduating yearbook picture, like we have ones in the back that the seniors can use to say farwell. It was like me and 10 other friends. Plus when my parents put in my senior picture and a picture of me when I was 5, they used a lyric to Time of Your Life.
MusicGrl1986 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I used Time of Your Life in a photo slideshow I made for one of my cousin’s weddings last year and I got to play American Idiot as a part of my high school graduation project.
mallorymaloney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Yep! Once I pasted the entire lyrics to Prosthetic Head in a comment on this one cunt's site, as I decided they fit her exactly. Even though I don't actually 'know' her. XDAnd I've found myself accidentally/on purpose quoting Green Day lyrics in regular conversation before.
shoegazeloser Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Yep! Once I pasted the entire lyrics to Prosthetic Head in a comment on this one cunt's site, as I decided they fit her exactly. mallorymaloney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I love the word 'cunt'.Everyone always says this whenever I use the word, haha. But that's pretty bad for someone your age, young man! No, I'm just kidding. My seven year old brother likes it, too.
Brian Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 That made me smile I occasionally quote them or a song. I'm not too obsessed with that though, overdoing it can be creepy. It would've been better if she picked up on the subtleness of the meaning of the song...:/and that was also the same day she told me she was dating my friend...
Peace and Rainbows Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 "The darkness is coming goddamn it!"Always a favorite of mine
04rebhop Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Some miserable old woman complained to me about my paper round about a year ago, so afterwards i let out all my feelings by writing a really angry livejournal post by quoting the song Take Back all through the post. I also quoted a line from No Pride last week when referring to my uncle.'You better swallow your pride or you`re gonna choke on it".
poisonoak Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I often use Mike's quote, if you're going to do something wrong, do it right. And I also sometimes use Billie's quote: "School is practice for the future, and practice makes perfect, and nobodies perfect, so why practice?"Edit:They're not lyrics, but I meant well. hey i used the billie one before, posted on my school's web, and i got voted student body president later, ironic
buffalosoldier Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 haha i played minority to my parents once when they were yelling at me
LMC Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Two years ago, me and a couple of friends played When I Come Around and Basket Case in school. That was awesome! We had two girls singing on Basket Case. I played guitar.
Metanoia Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Last year my whole class played Wmuwse at our school concert....... our music teacher told us to make a few proposals for which sing we could play......so i said a few ones from green day and i didn't give up until we chose wmuwse I also made a lot of posters with pictures of green day and put them on the walls through our whole school =)It was so cool to see their faces even when i went to our next lesson
Heather.asdf Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 ive used a song quote every day...lol i have no life...
Mrs. Nobody Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Erm, apart from propose it in music class, no.When I was 12 I was always sayin the nobody likes you line (hence the username) but yeah.. 12 years old eh
ShadowWolf Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Aye, I quote them a lot actually. It's just that no one ever gets the reference unless they're a close friend, hehe.
Reject All American Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I let my dad know all the time that I "Don't need your authority"
day1_9 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 today i was taking a nap, my mom called me to get me up. i told her to wake me up when September ends.......yupive used a song quote every day...lol i have no life... you are not alone
Katarina. Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I've used a lot of quotes from Green Day in the past few years, like the one from Billie, you know 'school is practice for the future.. and so on.' It's just so true, lol!
Captain Pasalacqua Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Last year my whole class played Wmuwse at our school concert....... our music teacher told us to make a few proposals for which sing we could play......so i said a few ones from green day and i didn't give up until we chose wmuwse I also made a lot of posters with pictures of green day and put them on the walls through our whole school =)It was so cool to see their faces even when i went to our next lesson Hahaha nice, my school did the same thing. It was cool, but it would have been better if it was like Platypus. Now THAT would have been awesome.
St. Banana Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 me and my friend always quote either song lines or band memeber quotes....and then cant help smiling and laughing...and then our other friends who hate green day ddont know what we're smiling about.....its like a little secret language and then if one of us quotes something the other always picks up on it, and we smile at each other in this 'i knoww' way....its pretty funny......cause everyone else is completely oblivious.but to get back to the topic....the reason i quote green day lines so much is that they are so perfect for so many situations. their lyrics are real.
IamRobotHearMeRoar Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I use them on a regular basis to get things across to people
