I'm too lazy and tired to read this whole thread. But I do think that if Cigarettes and Valentines was released instead of American Idiot, it wouldn't have been as much of a success. I'm basing this off of what the band has said. This place might even have a lot less people here, since a majority of you became fans of Green Day during the AI era.

I still go there regularly. But the whole place has been kind of dead lately, and there aren't usually many mods around anymore. It's depressing compared to how it used to be. :/

It pisses me off to even think about that site. How fucking Dujo talked down about GDA. He didn't fucking do anything on GSB. The fucking forum people posted news. He was a stupid asshole.

Yeah, I haven't seen him around at all in like, a year at least. I see a couple other admins though. But it annoys me that the news hasn't been updated since early May, and the only people who have the power to update news never come on. It's like they don't really care anymore. I almost want to be a mod there just so I can try to fix everything.

GSB used to claim that GDA plagerized them or other sites like greenday.net. Umm...fuck no. People plagerized from us.

I was joined to GSB, but that was a few years ago, and I couldn't believe how dead it was. Very depressing. It was a total ghost town. And GSB is on crack if they say you guys plagerized them. I always considered GDA/GDC to be the main Green Day site, surpassing GD.com even, so that's pretty ridiculous. They're just jealous.

So, that's mainly it? Warning-sounding, ballad-y? I heard it was just Mike and Billie playing, so no drums..does anyone know if they were both singing or anything? I really just want a better idea of the song, and if anyone remembers a lyric, that would be amazing. Even just a rough idea of what you remember or thought you heard. I'm desperate!

It shows your dedication when you've been a fan for a good number of years. Like if someone came to me and said I've been a Beatles fan for 30 years. Yeah, I'm not 30 years old, but I would think that would be pretty epic. For a lot of people favorite bands are like a "phase".

like I've always said, there are lots of favorite bands for me, but green day kinda opened the doors of music for me, I've always said, GD is my fave band, but I don't show it as many teenies do. (proof in the many update threads about 21CB before being released)

As I said, the only reason I made that joke was because the conversation was turning a little morbid and I was hoping to divert it from talking about people dying. If that's being "owned" or "pawned" then so be it.

As to the veteran/non-veteran thing. It gets really old really fast. Just like hearing about whether GD is punk/not punk; sold out/not sold out; relevant/not relevant, whatever. I think everyone here gets it, yes?

Or demanding that a video or audio appear from the closed confines of a soundcheck. Good luck with that!

I have seen GD 39 times and people always yell for Basket Case, Minority and Longview during request hour. Same with Christie Road and Pasalacqua. Sure, they are old songs and rare, but they are the two most popular rare songs GD play.
