The Bullwinkle said this "It was very Warning-esque. Just Billie and Mike played it."

That's all I know for now.

Yep.

You go girl.

:shifty:

Like somebody said before, it wasn't quite a ballad, but it was ballad-like. It actually kind of reminded me of "On The Ave." by Pinhead Gunpowder.

Does anyone remember some of the lyrics? Not exact, but like the topic or anything? just a few phrases?

Same here. I thought it was "stolen."

I honestly don't care, though. I just want to HEAR it. Hopefully, they'll play it during a concert soon. I mean, if they were playing during soundcheck, that means they remember it, and are playing it again. So..?

i wanna hear itttttt!!

^yeah it's been floating around for awhile. But only 2 of those songs are Green Day. One is a message posted on GD.com, and the second one Teenagers From Mars (Misfits cover)

exactly! the other one is an instrumental, so it's pretty much impossible to be sure who the fuck is playing (Y)

Like Jordan said, it was ballad-y. Kinda had a nostalgic vibe. It was beaaauutiful.

Well, my mouth simply fell open when I saw your tweet last night. I started showing it to all the people around me in line, and they were all, "Huh?"

I was speechless...then afterwards, I was like, "IT EXISTS!"

what a stupid thing to say, even if the tapes were "Stolen" (like it was said they were) don't you think the band in question would at least remember the chord progressions?

apparently they just wanted to start AI from scratch, but it doesn't mean they wipe the songs off of their brains

and yet Billie still can't remember the words to 86. For Shame

Gah I really need to hear it!

this is fucking GROUNDBREAKING. although i've heard somewhere that C&V is Money Money 20 20. fact or fiction?

Neither. Theory that some people have.

I bet she was probably born in the 1940s, so no, she's not 80. I'd say she was born no earlier than 1942 or 1945. (edit: maybe 1940, that would make her 19 if she had her first kid in 1959... have no idea how old Billie's oldest brother is...)

Anyway, enough depressing spam on this thread.

Let's get back to talking about DJ's signing his name on everything he writes.

she had billie joe when she was 40 which makes her 77, and homegirl is lookin' damn good for that age.

and really, i dont think it was money money 2020 in disguise. most of the lyrics on that album are completely ridiculous and i REALLY doubt that would release that as a serious album...

i actually downloaded it xD it's a bunch of VERY low quality songs... most of them, network style... and there's one called "i'll be there when september ends" and it's almost the same thing. I'm not sure if it's real though. Someone could be you messing around with fans or something like that

ps: your english is okay, but i'm not too sure 'bout mine e.e

wuuuuuut!

i think this means that there gonna start putting it in their setlist

remember when they did drama queen in a soundcheck and the next day the put it in the setlist

maybe cigarettes and valentines will be in the setlist tommarow

Wow, really? You couldn't tell at all. She's looking great for 77. I hope to look that good at that age. Thanks for letting me know!

I keep forgetting about this album/song! Maybe they'll see how excited people are about the song and will play it for a mass audience!

Posted

They do have back ups of the Cigarettes & Valentines album. From wikipedia: Bass player Mike Dirnt admitted that backups of the tapes were made but claims that "it just wasn't the same as the originals."

I remember reading or seeing that interview, so it's not just made up wikipedia bullshit.

That's what I was thinking. Drama Queen was first played during sound check, so you never know.

I really don't care what you think of me or my obsession to write my signature. I care about my favorite band of almost 16 years and the fact that a song was played last night that's never-been-heard before. After seven years of hosting my own talk show, I am used to the haters!

DJ ROSSSSSSSSSTAR

 Owned. DJ I think you're like me when it comes to your favorite band, you get defensive. That's what us veterans do.

I'm too lazy and tired to read this whole thread. But I do think that if Cigarettes and Valentines was released instead of American Idiot, it wouldn't have been as much of a success. I'm basing this off of what the band has said. This place might even have a lot less people here, since a majority of you became fans of Green Day during the AI era.
