Kayfabe Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Do you have a favourite line from a Green Day song? For example, at the moment, i'm loving "well little pieces of sticks and a pocket of stones" from FHTB's Pieces of Truth.I just love the way Billie Joe sings it in that kind of brattish way. Also "It don't take a genius to be an idiot" from Mother Mary was another.Whats your favourite's?(Apologies if there is already a topic out there similar to this)ExCUSE me???? "It don't take a genius to be an idiot/ it don't take a jesus to save my soul" is from the PEDESTRIAN. tsk tsk.My favourite is: "call me pathetic, call me what you will" because i often forget to make plans for the weekend and end up being shit bored/ feeling worthless.
greendaytone Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 ExCUSE me???? I know, how silly of me. I like the reasoning behind your quote there, i can certainly relate to that. I've done pretty much nothing this weekend! Here's my quote for the day:"Music to my nervous system" - Static AgeStill loving that song, and it is music to my nervous system!
Kayfabe Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I've ALWAYS been in love with the line in the song "Red Tide" by the Tubbies:"Disconnected from the dancehall; trippin on her heart of purple."*gazes into space*mmmO yhh I ♥♥♥ red tide!!!
Kayfabe Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 "Here they come marching down the streets, like a desperation murmur of a heartbeat." I also love the melody with this part of Homecoming..That reminds me! I love "The world is spinning round, and round out of control again"People always see the earth spinning as peaceful and harmonious, and i love how billie twists is to make it "out of control", because if something spins, it is usually out of control right?i love that line.also "the inocent can never last" - wmuwsemost of dry ice but the 2nd verse "i'll send a letter to that girl asking her to be my own, but my pen is writing wrong so i'll say it in a song. oh i love you more right now, more than i've ever loved before, hear these words straight from these lips, i'll need you forever more""it's all i've got and i'm giving it to you" - scattered"it's lushotology" - broadway"blinded by the silence of a thousand broken heart" - minority, always gonna be my favouriteI major in Lushotology "Every time I look in my past I always wish I was there I wish my youth would forever last Why are these times so unfair"(I love "16")"Are you locked up in a world that's been planned out for you?Are you feeling like a social tool without a use? ""The emptiness will fill your soul with sorrowcause it's not what you make it's what you leave""Can't run around in circles if you wanna build a life""Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts"And many, many, many more.Actually my favourite from She is "Scream at me untill my ears bleed/ I'm taking heed just for you"Although I always change heed to it because i don't know what heed means and also since that's what i sing when one of my friends is pissed and needs a shoulder.I've also got a say, i love the sounds Billie Joe makes during songs. Very hard to explain, but i think you'll all know what i mean. Like the the ooo-oooh' (in the intro to Church on Sunday). And most recently, the angry way he builds up to "but we did, yeah we done it" on pieces of truth.Know what i mean? They're quite subtle, but really add some feeling to the songs.Yeah! and on Bab's Uvula Who?, he kind of goes 'seh' after the end of a verse
forget_me_nots Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Haha, I agree with the "I love the sounds Billie makes" thing. It sounds weird, but it's amazing what he does. Certain ways he sings certain phrases or words, and the "ooh-s" or whatever......like "shiiiiiite!" in Hitchin' A Ride, "woah-oh," before the last chorus of Church on Sunday, of course the "way-hey" of Know Your Enemy, the way he says "alright" in Give Me Novacaine, the "woah-oh-s" in Armatage Shanks......I could go on forever.
