You love it.

I think it's cool but I was a tad dissapointed with the song choice at the concert I attended. Longview is my all time fav song by Green Day and the chick that got up there murdered it then through it down the ugly tree. I really wish Billie had of done it. lol

I love when they bring people up to play the geetar though, espesh when the person does a fab job at it.

I think it's cool, but it depends on which song that they bring up people to sing on. JoS would be better if it just had Green Day singing it, not people in the audience.

I lovelovelovelove that the guys incorporate the fans as much as possible. Compared to any other concert it is 1000x more fun. Yeah it's a little cringe-worthy when people mess up the lyrics.. in Boston the people chosen to sing Longview intermixed the second and third verses. But hey, one can only imagine how nerve racking that would be.. I would probably do the same thing if I had the chance. It also gave me chills when the fans ran and bear hugged Billie as soon as they got on stage.. I hope to be so lucky one day ;]

I like the fact that they're bringing people up to sing.

Alright, if its a song you were dying to hear the guys play then it sucks.

But really, look at it like this:

Someones dream of getting on stage with Green Day is coming through.

How would you feel if it was you?

I know I'd be so happy I wouldn't give a damn what anyone else thought!

I think it's a good way for Green Day to connect with the fans.

I absolutely love the fact that they're bringing fans up on stage! It just shows how much Green Day incorporates their fans into the show. How many bands today do that? Not a lot, I'm guessing. It doesn't matter to me if the singer sucks, I know if Billie had picked me to go up on stage I'd be nervous as hell and probably not sing as well either. It seems like so much fun so it really doesn't matter. I've already heard the whole Green Day discography well over a million times so  it's not ruining the songs for me or anything. It's just a complete honor to have a famous band like Green Day give fans a chance to share the stage with them.

I love the fact that they pull people up, and I hate the fact that some people bitch about it, saying things like, 'I paid to hear Green Day play their music! Not a bunch of random motherfuckers OMG outrage OMG OMG OMG' --- 'Cause guess what?

You didn't 'pay to hear Green Day play', you paid to see a fucking show, and that's exactly what Green Day puts on. Don't like it, don't come to the shows.

You want to hear Green Day play exclusively, STFU and sit in a corner with your iPod ... And let everyone else have the time of their lives in peace.

=D

I love the fact that they bring people up on stage, whether it is to sing, to squirt the watergun, play guitar or just for a hug. It really helps to break down the barrier between the band and the fans and you always think that maybe you might get the chance one day. I always love it when people go up to sing because I just think of how I would feel if I was chosen and I wouldn't grudge anyone that experience, whether they are note perfect or not.

I love that they bring fans up onstage, no matter why they do it. It's so appealing that they care about their fans that much and aren't the typical rockstars, the ones who just expect their fans to sit and watch and admire them as they play. At a Green Day concert, making it a fun time is a group effort. By seeing fans like you up onstage, you feel more involved. And now seeing how Billie brings up kids to be "saved" - it's so cool to see. By doing that they're leaving kids with a memory they will never forget. All three guys are just so nice and normal, it makes perfect sense that they'd want their fans to share in the fun. You don't go just to a concert, but to an event.

BTW, at the MSG concert last night, Billie did sing the entire Jesus of Suburbia. He let the girl play the guitar for the entire song.

too much??

I think it's fantastic-- But if he tried to get me to I'd be way too terrified. No way I could do it.

good for them

I am incredibly jealous of the ones who get to play JOS

I love it. I think it's awesome that Green Day are giving their fans this once in a lifetime opportunity. It just shows that they really care for the fans, letting them do this. I do understand that they can and will get some idiots up there, or people who can't play guitar or don't know the words and yes, that sucks. Especially when you like the song they're doing. But imagine if you got pulled up there, how amazing you'd feel? Would you want them to not be pulling people on stage then? I like taking the chance of the song sucking just so other fans get the chance to get up there.

So yea, I like it. Or maybe I'm just biased because at the concert I went to the people who sang and played guitar were pretty awesome and didn't ruin a thing. :P

I would also rather hear the band sing or play the song, but this is the way how Green Day show how much they love their fans. and I like it, I think it's so amazing. I am little jealous when I see that but I would never have so much courage to go up there and sing:D

This. I couldn't agree more.

I LOVE it. It's makes Green Day an engaging band and it's something that really seperates them from alot of other live acts.

and to think that one day just maybe that will be me on stage singing with Green Day, well that thought alone makes me reach some sort of abnormal climax. Too much information I think. Point is, GD fucking rock because they know exactly how to be engaging.

On one hand I love it, because it just makes the band seem like they're SO into their fans, and you get so excited for the people who up on stage (ESPECIALLY if they're you're friend ) and it's one huge adrenaline rush.

On the other, I didn't spend $75 to watch some amateurs possibly butcher my favourite band's work. I paid that cash to see the BAND play, not the fans. Chances are, they're from the town that the band plays in, so I have a better chance of seeing those fans again than I do ever seeing Green Day again.

I still love watching them though. I feel so happy for them!

He always sings the whole song. He only pulls people up to play the guitar, nothing else.
