Psycho Britney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 How about I make copies of my sound check pass and mail them to a whole bunch of GDC'rs? ...it could work. Haha! Sound like a plan...and at the moment it's sounds like the best one!
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Haha! Sound like a plan...and at the moment it's sounds like the best one! :wink:LOL, as long as no one knows it was me, I'm fine with it.
Tripe Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 but just because they don't have a sponsor, doesn't mean they won't give out sound check passes... right?Like netty said, I would think there won't be anything as formal as in the US, with lists and a person handling all the passes and putting up with all the annoying people asking () unless there is a sponsor who hires a person or people to do it. Obviously it's a great promotional tool for Verizon, with the website with the photos and all the ads splashed all over the place. The thing about the Verizon soundcheck is that the people selected were all under the control of the Verizon people, being babysat and fed and watered and told where to go and when to sit and when to get up and go. Sound Check happens a couple of hours before the show, so it's not like they could have people wandering the arena after Sound Check was over without someone to keep them in one place.I'll bet there will be some admission to Sound Check at some of the UK and Europe venues at least. Figuring out how to be one of the select few allowed in for it is something else altogether!this is energyyes I cant wait!http://www.thisisenergy.net/http://www.myspace.com/thisisenergy♥♥I'm glad you posted this. I keep having such a brain fart about the name of this band!
Psycho Britney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Lauren-it'll be our little secret! :whistling: Tripe-I'd be 'babysat' if it meant I could watch soundcheck!
ukcastaway Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 and for the record the band didnt sign anything for us or even meet us, so no table necessary there.I knew that... I was just suggesting a way to do it on a budget over here, but still make it special, a kinda Tesco Value Soundcheck (the brits will get that  )
Psycho Britney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 ^ Tesco's Value, Sainsbury's Basics..I'd be up for it however 'cheap' or lofi it was. :/
ukcastaway Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 ^ Tesco's Value, Sainsbury's Basics..I'd be up for it however 'cheap' or lofi it was. :/just as long as it isn't My Mums or Nisa
netty Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 ^ Tesco's Value, Sainsbury's Basics..I'd be up for it however 'cheap' or lofi it was. :/anybody who mentions tescos values to me will get punched! you wont even need to be anywhere near the barrier for that. if they sponsor the tour...you`ll be down one straight away. lol
Generation Zero Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I hope there will be a soundcheck for the fans in Europe, I think you guys in the UK may have the chance because they're doing quite some shows there but I doubt that there will be one at show I'm going toYou never know of course
Hanner Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I like Britton, he is a crazy mother fuckerBritton is SO awsome. hes the one that got me into sound check yesterday.and Chris is the Best. i was at the concert by myself and i was talking to him and he intoduced me to these people who where like the nicest people everrrr. totally made my night a hell of a lot better. and he gave me a poster thank youu Chris and Britton
Tubbie Head Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Is there a way that we could contact with the band? (people who have their contact, and usually ask questions to their manager, like Courtney, Andres etc) To get some information about the souncheck thing over the European dates?
heartscollide Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Is there a way that we could contact with the band? (people who have their contact, and usually ask questions to their manager, like Courtney, Andres etc) To get some information about the souncheck thing over the European dates? That's pretty much the best idea I've heard all day."GDCers demand to know if they can get into soundchecks at international shows."
Tubbie Head Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I'm soo obssesed with the soundchecks now.. You don't even Imagine I just NEED to get in.. heheh
mlines6 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I know I haven't properly thanked Chris on here yet...I'm so behind on everything. But I do want so say a BIG THANK YOU Chris for the soundcheck pass in Salt Lake City!! It made my trip down from Seattle extra special. It was also nice to say a quick hi in San Jose and Sacramento as well. I hope I didn't seem to much of a pest in Sacramento. Between the heat and the rude Arco Arena security during the day, I'm sure I was a bit on the whiny/annoying side. Since that show didn't have much pre concert hype on the forum, I thought I might give it one more try at getting in. Never hurts to try at least, even if one doesnt succeed. At least the concert was amazing! Thanks for all of your work on getting the soundcheck passes together for this leg of the tour!! Much appreciated! CHEERS!MargaretNot sure if I ever properly thanked Chris on here, so here it is:MEGA THANK YOU CHRIS! YOU HELPED MAKE MY ROCKING NIGHT POSSIBLE!!!
amy_runs Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 IT WAS FUN! And just 35 of us sitting in that 18,000 seated arena watching the band was awesome
Lauren Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Is anyone keeping track of the sound check set lists?
heartscollide Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Is anyone keeping track of the sound check set lists?from what I've heard, most of them have 21st Century Breakdown and King For a Day...
Lauren Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I think they ALL have American Eulogy, King For A Day, and 21st Century Breakdown.I just wanna know if anyone or any website is keeping track of the sound check set lists. I think someone should, it'd be neat to see all the songs that were played, even though there'll be no audio/video (unless they were sneaky).
