Nova-Caine Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I hope it does continue but just because something is offered to fans in one Country we shouldn't assume it will continue for the rest of the tour, esp if Verizon have only sponsored that part of the tour.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I doubt this will continue in Europe and the UK, it seems unique for the US tour. I would however like to see the IC doing something like this in future. If they have a sponsor over there they most likely will have this going on. The IC couldnt handle something like this, its too much work and not cost effective.
Nova-Caine Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Well other bands manage to do this kind of stuff through fan clubs.
netty Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 dont think they have a sponsor for the rest of the tour. I looked the other day. any way, I`ve asked so lets see what kind of answer I get this time.
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Did they give out passes in the UK for the AI tour? because I know Chris worked both legs of the US AI tour. I'm not sure if they gave out passes, but people definitely could win them because one of my friends won one (won one, hahahahaha) for the AI tour.
Tripe Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Today is Christopher's last day of work. I would imagine he is probably very glad to be home. And done with all the grasping fans.

jenni Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 dont think they have a sponsor for the rest of the tour. I looked the other day. any way, I`ve asked so lets see what kind of answer I get this time. let's hope it'll be a positive answer!!!
ukcastaway Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 If they have a sponsor over there they most likely will have this going on. The IC couldnt handle something like this, its too much work and not cost effective. It is certainly something that Artist Arena would be able to handle....they handle stuff like this for other bands & what's the cost? Fuck all in reality, you don't need all the extras like shirts, food, rock band etc...small group into soundcheck, (50pax maybe), M&G style signing table then shove everyone back out or into foyerOther bands manage to administer this kind of thing themselves, sometimes for free for contest winners/street teamers/fan clubs or by a higher cost VIP ticket. Bowling For Soup are doing VIP M&G with Acoustic session for their UK tour in October...
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I would imagine he is probably very glad to be home. And done with all the grasping fans. Yes, he is VERY glad to be done. While he LOVES Green Day, it is VERY tiring to tour with them. He had fun, but is glad to be home.
chaoschloeshesarebel Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I hope the UK sponser is Nokia or Orange! As i'm on an orange contract, and have a brand new nokia phone
Isabel Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I assumed that it would have been O2 sponsoring the UK/Ireland tour. But they don't seem to know anything about soundchecks having an audience :/
netty Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I think the fact that nobody can remember who sponsored the last one pretty much shows that there isnt a sponsor.
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I think the fact that nobody can remember who sponsored the last one pretty much shows that there isnt a sponsor.LOL
Isabel Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Well, looking at my old Green Day ticket from January 2005 it says "MCD/2FM/TV3"
ukcastaway Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Tours tend not to have sponsors over here, certainly not at Arena level.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 It is certainly something that Artist Arena would be able to handle....they handle stuff like this for other bands & what's the cost? Bowling For Soup are doing VIP M&G with Acoustic session for their UK tour in October...jeez louise, I am not saying they couldnt do it, I am just saying the way its been done over here wouldnt be cost effective without a sponsor.and for the record the band didnt sign anything for us or even meet us, so no table necessary there.
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Tours tend not to have sponsors over here, certainly not at Arena level.but just because they don't have a sponsor, doesn't mean they won't give out sound check passes... right?
**nobodylikesyou** Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I think the fact that nobody can remember who sponsored the last one pretty much shows that there isnt a sponsor.hah I wouldnt have known verizon sponsored GD last time if Chris and Britton hadnt have recently told me. I doubt most people remember stuff like that unless they won something sponsored by them.
netty Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 but just because they don't have a sponsor, doesn't mean they won't give out sound check passes... right?not sound check passes... think its more a case of "let me in ya buggers!!!" lol
Lauren Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 and for the record the band didnt sign anything for us or even meet us, so no table necessary there.yeah, you don't get anything unless you count the drum sticks Tre always gives away. then again, the people who actually won them (and not just get them because Chris felt like being nice) said they would get something signed... but they didn't. Although, on the AI tour, my friend who won sound check passes actually got something signed. Not by meeting the band and getting it signed personally, she got it mailed to her.
MassHysteria Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 hah I wouldnt have known verizon sponsored GD last time if Chris and Britton hadnt have recently told me. I doubt most people remember stuff like that unless they won something sponsored by them.I like Britton, he is a crazy mother fucker
**nobodylikesyou** Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I like Britton, he is a crazy mother fuckerHe is great. He is from my hometown, and I cant wait to take my kids and go see his band next month!
Isabel Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 not sound check passes... think its more a case of "let me in ya buggers!!!" lolI'm planning on scaling the building to get into the soundcheck.
Psycho Britney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I feel so hard-done-by at the thought of not at least having the chance to maybe get into soundcheck
