IzButt Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I always thought of the idea of them naming the band after a day of smoking pot, but I would LOVE to see this Sesame Street episode lol
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 and the term 'green day' did come from Sesame Street. It was Oscar the grouch who said it. "I am having a green day", meaning he was having a bad day.Oh I thought I remember hearing it was Ernie. Hence the Ernie puppet. Which I have by the way! I got it at a Green Day concert, too.
Dylan. Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Maybe you guys should get a hobby and stop searching frantically for a particular Seseame Street episode. But if you guys really wanted to find the one...I would look from 1985 to 1989, when the song Green Day was written.
IzButt Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 haha i didnt find the episode but wtf is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rX_Ch8TDWw bahaha
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 You guys are getting it wrong. Yes, Green Day is referred to a day where all you do is smoke pot. BUT, they wouldn't have invented the term Green Day if it weren't for them watching Sesame Street when they were high.
Dookie93 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Ernie said it, that's why he was on the back of Dookie.
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Ernie said it, that's why he was on the back of Dookie.that's what i thought too but she said she actually saw it and it was Oscar
LetItBeHappy Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 they heard the "green day" term on sesame street, but, for them, it means to be smoking pot all day. That's why they had one of the sesame street's caracters in the dookie record, but they had to take it away because of the copyright and farfarfar. I'm gonna try to find the video :B(if you don't understand what the hell i tried to say, blame my english teacher, thanks)
Lauren Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 your english is perfect. thanks for trying to find it and good luck!
