As a single, how successful has "21 Guns" Been?

It's gone up another two places on the UK chart. Judging by the speed it's going I reckon it's got a good chance of being Christmas number one.

I don't think they're mainstream enough. It's weird that bands like Kings of Leon can seemingly come from nowhere to headline Glastonbury and have a number one album, yet Green Day seem to be going backwards

Yeah thats what does not make sense to me at all. I mean Kings of Leon are not that good of a band at least in my opinon. Green Day is a million times the band Kings of Leon will ever be so it is befuddling to me how Green Day seems to be going backward

Green Day need Kings Of Leon's PR/publicist/A&R person. Whoever it may be is an utter genius. Before Glastonbury, they did adverts on Radio One for a session that actually had to remind people who they were. A year later, they've had a number one single and they're re-issuing all their previous albums. Green Day only released American Idiot and did Milton Keynes a few years ago and yet their last two singles have barely troubled the chart.

I agree with you there because whatever the Kings of Leon PR/publicist/A&R person has done it has worked to perfection because they have taken a truly mediocre band and turned them in to something big right now. Something really needs to be done to get Green Day's name out there again. I am hoping if East Jesus Nowhere is the new single it will be something big that will get peoples attention and get the other singles moving in the right direction

It was weird...I hear "21 Guns" and "She" on the radio today! I won't lie, I started singing like a fool when I heard "She", because I don't think I've ever heard it on the radio (since I was a wee youngin' when it was released). I hear "Good Riddance", "Longview", "Basket Case" and all of the AI songs a lot, but not "She"!

I've heard Know Your Enemy a couple times, but 21 Guns

has recieved much more airtime, at least where I live. I

rarely listen to the radio and I've heard at least 15 times..

We got #1 in Israel though!

I was listening the radio for three weeks the whole days cause I had summer work, and I heard 21 Guns once. They don't do any advertising on 21CB or the singles here. It annoys me like hell. The only songs that they played were Pokerface, Sober, Ayo Technology and old pop hits. Pop stuff in general. Stupid stupid stupid stupid radios. :verymad:
