I usually don't listen to radio much but still can hear 21 guns couple of times a day I don't know about its chart positions, but here I've heard Peacemaker million times more in radio than 21 Guns. :/ It's not bad thing 'cause it's still Green Day on radio, but hey, 21 Guns is the single and Peacemaker is not :F People just doesn't listen to good music anymore Really? I want to hear Peacemaker on the radio! And what do you mean people don't listen to good music any more? It's one of the best songs off of the album

It didn't hit number the day it was released, it took a couple of months to really catch on and now I hear it everywhere. I bet the same will happen with this, but it looks like it's taking a bit longer...
Meeky Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I live in Australia and Green Day's new album has been promoted to some extent.I do hear a fair amount of air time of 21 guns on the radio.However it isn't very popular, it's not one of those songs that people would just all start singing to here.Not yet anyway.But when I first heard it I knew that everyone would fall inlove with it,as many of the singles off American Idiot have.Unfortunately, I don't believe it has the success it truly deserves.D:

The radio here just plays Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga,The Black Eyed Peas or that stupid a-a-a-a-alcohol song. Grr....Even the rock station here lacks in variety! They mostly play Led Zeppelin, Queen, or Van Halen.So, I've given up.

tvrman Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 My observation/view: I see 21 Guns on Kerrang (short version) and Scuzz (proper, album version) regularly. It has not helped that the video was out way before the single (in the UK at least). I never check any charts so cannot comment on any chart position, but the album is such good value why buy any singles from it ?It was good to see 21CB getting good promotion at launch eg TV ads and the boys doing the Abbey Road session, but what would make sense to myself is to do the next single and promo push (maybe even appear on Later with JH) just before the UK tour. So I am expecting things to remain quiet in the UK until after the stateside gigs are completed.tvrman
