Hmmm...I don't know. It looks more like Billie's style of the way he writes, and I don't think it was really written in a personal way. He usually likes to write songs from other people's point of views. And I think this song, like what Billie wrote in the Q magazine, how it's about celebrities and how they can self-destruct and it's about tabloid addiction and just addiction to celebrities and media in general. So I think it's told in a point of view of a father who has this daughter who's a celebrity and how she's doing all this bad stuff and even though it sounds like a sweet little daddy/daughter song, a lot of it is really sarcastic which I think is the most clever thing about it. It's like "Aw...look at my sweet little daughter, all grown up, going out to parties and then driving home completely drunk! Aw, look at her posing for pictures for the tabloids in that beautiful very skin-revealing dress!" xD This song makes me think of celebrities like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. So yeah, I think Billie wrote it, but that would be really cool if Mike would write a song about his daughter. I think that Mike should write more songs too. =)

That's an awesome way to put it. You described exactly what I was thinking.

A lot of celebrities marry within 2 mins of meeting one another, its a way to stay in the public eye etc.

I am loving this song thank you Beth for the lyrics and thank you for Stjimmylied I think it was for the down load

Sorry but GD fans are just the best, I cannot believe how nice everyone I ever met from a GD board is

You're quite welcome. Although I have yet to meet someone from GDC, I have to say, everyone here is so nice (as you said), and it would be a pleasure to meet you people.

I've only heard it once, but apart from the falsetto, it sounds a bit like a Noel Gallagher acoustic song (not a bad thing).

I'd love it if Mike wrote more songs, he always seems to have something interesting to say in interviews so I reckon his lyrics could be great.

Oh it is. Really beautiful!

Maybe since they played it last night they are planning to release it in some way.

Maybe it'll have a music video of Lisa Stelly rolling around on the ground

That's a good way to put it, I didn't think about it in that way.

I could see Mike writing something similar to this, cause of his daughter and how much he cares for her.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I thought I heard reckless in there, but then I thought I heard "wedding" before reckless. xD I don't know if that's just my bad hearing or not...."wedding reckless" lol idk I guess it could be "running reckless" that would make more sense... xD

And then, yeah. I thought I was hearing "holding" on the second one as in "holding on" But idk. Thanks for the help! =)

Now i think the one verse says what do you think she's holding without much emphasis on what

All these acoustic songs might be practice for Billie Joe going solo. Maybe that articvle wasn't FOS.

OMG not this again. hes not going solo got dammit!

Just heard about this 15 minutes ago.

Drama Queen sounds very good.

No, as far as I know nobody has found a vid or anything about 'Olivia'.

From looking at the lyrics, this screams Britney Spears to me; like her father's relationship with her, or how it may as well be. It obviously isn't about Britney, most likely not, but it could be about a similar scenario, a similar father/daughter situation in the limelight. Very sarcastic. This has some really interesting lyrics that hit home well despite being so simple. I really like it, and I love the vocals.

oh jesus. if I waited like, 5 more minutes last night...

this song is just amazing, I'm in LOVE with it.

for some reasons I imagine a souped up version of this

with trumpets, trombones,,,,

and a verse in

French

for some reason I think it would be great with a French verse

not sure why

I hear it as 'She is my drama queen, she is so weird and reckless'.

Fantastic song!

I was so happy when they played it live last night. At first I was confused, but then when he sang "She is my drama queen..." I was like whoaa, this is it. I'm glad it was caught on video. Hopefully it's released as a b-side!

It's just a cute little song I could get a better idea if I heard the real recording. I'm sure they have a real recording because it was suppose to be on the album. I hear a lot of horns maybe a little bit of strings in the background for this kind of song personally.

Is "She's old enough to bleed now" referring to her menstrual cycle?

My god I love Drama Queen  Lucky Philly lot getting to here it live!

Woah I hadn't thought of that! I wouldn't put it past him with his obsession with double meanings. I assumed it meant to suffer, or something.
