Guest Roz Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Well I only ever listen to my ipod and on Green (I still have yet to actually listen to Letterbomb!)letterbomb is one of their best songs :| I often skip Jesus of Surbubia (though it's one of my favorite songs), but I have a very good (if somewhat twisted) reason for that. I have this thing about listening to songs all the way through. If I'm in the car, and I arrive at my destination, I have to wait till the song's over before I shut off the car. It just feels so RUDE to interrupt the song before it's finished! So, if I'm almost at the office, or the shops, or wherever I happen to be going, and JOS is the next song up, I'll often skip it and go for a shorter song.I'm just like that. I usually skip:-Shoplifter-Tight Wad Hill-Take Back-Sweet Children-Best Thing In Town-Strangeland-Know Your Enemy I also often skip She's A Rebel and Extraordinary Girl simply because I really really want to get to Letterbomb.Oh and wtf everyone? I adore Last Ride In. I even named my GD LJ comm after it u_______u
_all_is_well_ Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 It usually depends what song im in the mood to hear. Theres really no specific song iI skip.
Whatsername868 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I'm pretty tired of Know Your Enemy, and I never really liked Horseshoes and Handgrenades.
Michelle Lynn Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 There isnt a Green Day song that I hate, or wouldnt want to hear live but I mostly skip the real "hits" such as-Know Your Enemy-American Idiot-Blouevard of Broken Dreams-21 Guns-Wake Me Up When September Ends-Basketcase (sometimes)Its not that I dont like these songs its just I think that most of them are over played.I cant believe so many people would skip Christians Inferno, One for the Razorbacks, Deadbeat Holiday, and Letterbomb! Christians Inferno is one of my favorite songs on the albul not nescessarily because of the rythm but because of the meaning, have you read the lyrics they are so dark. Its a very powerful song I mean "theres a fire in my viens, its puring out like a flood!" simply beautiful.
janiliz06 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I skip *guilty* she is a rebel I just dont like it. the only one from AI.and from other albums jaded, chump, misery and from 21CB horseshoes.
TREdawg591 Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I skip twight wad hillfor I know not the meaningenlighten me please
bjrules Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 More songs that I skip:Rest (Can't stand this song)Last Night on EarthExtraordinary GirlTight Wad Hill (I like it, I just like the other Insomniac ones better)Don't Wanna Fall in Love
Isabel Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I skip twight wad hillfor I know not the meaningenlighten me pleaseIt's a real place; it's actually the name of the hill overlooking the football field at UC Berkeley. People go up there to watch the games instead of having to pay to see them. I think when the song was written it was about everyone sitting up there, literally "cheapskates on the hill"Well, that's what I always thought it was about anyway It's one of my favourite songs
Nele Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I can imagine the reaction if they ever decided to play Christian's Inferno."This song's called Christian's Inferno!!"*tumble weed slowly rolls by*i would go like: seriously, that song is just amazing.
Valkin Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 How can people skip Brain Stew and Know Your Enemy?! They're both soo powerful and sure KYE is overplayed but damn i love it!
jose armstrong Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I'm a proud know your enemy skipper.I've also been skipping last of the American girls and the whole third act, I seriously need to give the third act a chance
Isabel Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 i would go like: seriously, that song is just amazing.I quite like it too
Grouch Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Yes it'd be just horrible if they played Christian's Infernohttp://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v27/TheM...noLivetheFo.flvLook at them there, so bland and lifeless, how could that song ever be exciting, let alone entertaining? Song was written to be played live, I have no idea why they aren't doing it on this tour.
jose armstrong Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Song was written to be played live, I have no idea why they aren't doing it on this tour.ACTUALLY, lots of people would think otherwise
Peel Slowly And See Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Christian's Inferno is a very good song and you should all be ashamed.
Grouch Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 And they'd be wrong. Short song, Fast paced, great sing along chorus. Yeah sounds like a good live song to me.
jose armstrong Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Christian's Inferno is a very good song and you should all be ashamed.who should be ashamed???are people skipping the song????meh.yeah, I kinda knew not a lot of people like Christian's inferno, since that fist album listen thread
Juan Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Green Day will now use complicated tunings in future albums in order not to play the songs live and keep on playing the same setlist over and over again. I predict a Open A7sus4 tuning coming someday
jose armstrong Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 lolthose bastardsbut in all seriousness, they don't play all those great songs because of Billie's vocal ability and the hard task of using all those high notes throughout the tour
Hermione Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Yes it'd be just horrible if they played Christian's Infernohttp://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v27/TheM...noLivetheFo.flvLook at them there, so bland and lifeless, how could that song ever be exciting, let alone entertaining? Song was written to be played live, I have no idea why they aren't doing it on this tour. :o Holy fucking hell I have never seen that before! I didn't think anyone ever ripped all of those for us non-US people. Thanks very much for posting such wonderfulness . And I concur.
Tiffx Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Yes it'd be just horrible if they played Christian's InfernoSong was written to be played live, I have no idea why they aren't doing it on this tour.I completely agree. They really should be playing that live.
Hermione Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Dear Green Day, please replace St. Jimmy with Christian's Inferno on your setlist
Jack96 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 don't like the angry songs, i see oh god... rest... i cannot stand listening to that song.Yeah i dislike it as well
ThePeacemaker Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I gotta say i usually find myself skipping "Chump" on Dookie play-throughs, and "Little Girl" from 21st Century
