I'll go for hard rock. after seeing Billie purely as a frontman for Foxtubs he's very much capable of takin' up to the task 'specially for a hard rock band.. it could just be a modern hard rock band. not so much retro.. maybe with a few vintage 70s- 80s sounding hard rock sounds that'd be interesting.

YES! I was thinking the same thing. Great minds do think alike. :sherlock:

Indeed they do

That deserves to go on my sig.

:woot: YAY! I feel special now

I could see them going ska punk or even some hardcore punk just to free themselves.

I really like Garage rock sounds, and I liked the sound of Foxboro Hot Tubs, so that would be cool if they did that for another side project.

Also, what hardtoconcentrate said, Grunge would be interesting too.

If they have fun making it, like FBHT, I don't care what it sounds like.

THEY SHOULD MAKE AN ALBUM THAT SOUNDS LIKE METAL MACHINE MUSIC

Posted

Salsa and hardcore punk, something like Crass meets Minor Threat meets Black flag meets Celia Cruz

You should.

It's rare for a person to make it on my sig.

HAHA YES! Green Day's noise-rock album!

I seriously think they should do a thrash album next. All songs that sound like Take Back. Give the boys some Venom tapes, trust me, it'd be hilarious.

Also, GD had a Fuck Ska tour in the 90s, man, I'd rule out a ska-punk album, as funny as it would be. Now, if they did a traditional ska album, now we're getting somewhere. Maybe even a London Calling or Sandinista!-style album, bring in the melting pot of rock, roots, dub, ska, all that.

I want to see indie Green Day, which is like garage rock, but better. Gangster rap wouldn't be bad either, I want to see Bill's skills on the mic.

FHT weren't really garage rock...I mean they had the 60's garage rock style. Real garage rock is like the White Stripes.

Green Day hates ska except for the band Operation Ivy.

Like Nickelback? If they did that I'd be so fucking upset.

yeah if they did something like that I'd officially pack up and leave....

I voted for something entirely different

like something comedy oriented....

hehe

London Calling is a cohesive work of chaos and Sandinista! is an experimental hodge podge. They're two different styles of doubles, man.

But yeah that'd always be nice.

Neither they should either start a jazz or Irish rock band!!!!!! Come on guys that would kick major ass.

Ska, ska, and MORE ska.

Billie shouldn't learn how to play the trumpet. :)

But seriously if they do another side project, I'd like to hear some punk ska. That's just fun music, man.

you get that the 60's garage rock is as garage as it gets

Your conception of "Real garage rock" is like saying that "Real punk" is Blink 182

Symphonic Metal. My love. It would be amusing to see Green Day attempt that.

They'd have to get a chick to be the lead singer.

And how.

Haha. I liked that.

I really hate new wave, but seeing as The Network made me love it, I wouldnt mind seeing more of that!

You know, when Davey and Jade from AFI did Blaqk Audio it was full of EPIC win. For me, anyway.

I wonder if Green Day could pull of any electronica. Thinking about their music that they have now with an electric/techno/trance spin intrigues me.

Whatever you wanna call it. Me and my drum teacher just refer to it as Irish rock lol.

Yeah they have some really great celtic rock bands that do ska and it's some of the best music out there.
