If I had to pay more than 20, I would.

oh but you wouldn't go on a roller coaster if Billie asked you to!

I was told that if you're a teenage or young adult girl to be really careful. A roadie could come up to you and offer to take you back stage... only when he does, it's not what you were hoping for, you're all alone with him and he does... not nice things. I'm not saying everyone is like this, but it's just best to be careful. Always stick with someone, and don't do anything that you're too suspicious about.

Good point. I am now a little more grateful to be male

Yeah... I was reminded by my guitar teacher that most of these guys aren't even part of Green Day's crew. Green Day has a crew that tours with them, but there's also crew members that are assigned to a specific area, not a specific band. Their job is just to lift heavy stuff all day... It's pretty sick to think about it, but it could happen. Which is why I said you should NEVER go alone with someone. Especially if you're a girl, but it wouldn't hurt if you're a guy to stick with someone.

Does anyone know if eventually they come out of the venue to sign stuff for fans like if you wait around?

or does it really just depend

And this is one reason why I hate being a girl. But thank God I'm not stupid like a lot of people are and I'm actually a lot stronger than most guys I've met.. And I'm fast and know a lot of martial arts... ANYONE NEED A BODY GUARD?

I wonder if you ask a security guard nicely if they'll let you meet the band for a few minutes

I doubt it, unless you bribe him.

The guard in front of us seemed super nice, we even had a conversation or two, but we were too nervous to ask.

I've had backstage passes to a few shows and it has always been disappointing. The second last time I saw Billie a little while after their set at Warped tour and asked for him to sign my shirt and he basically ignored my existence while he signed even though we were alone (maybe he was having a bad day) and the next time they were playing a fairly small club in Toronto (held about 1,500) and the band trashed the stage so bad after their set that the bouncers said "nobody is going backstage, the band has been asked to leave immediately". Oh well, looking forward to seeing them Friday and not worrying about meeting them.

My mom's damn near convinced that if she played the "needy woman in a wheelchair" role, she'd get some XD When they were here in 2005 they were staying at the hotel down the street from me,she wanted to go over and hang out at the bar until someone talked to her.

(BTW,she really is in a wheelchair. We don't fake injuries XD Figured I'd just throw that in.)

i was told to talk to them if you're going to other shows. which is what i'll do. i'll be like "hey... tell the boys i'll be in DC and Vegas if they wanna meet up" hahaha yeah RIGHT.

Too bad I'm not gonna be there I would so do that  I'm known to do out there and unexpected things.

I will seriously ask them, though! It's not like they're gonna punch me in the face for asking... and it's kind of funny, anyway.

You just can't be all "OMBJ TAKE ME TO MEET BILLIE JOE RIGHT NOW1!@#!$L3WEHFGSDKBFIKUW3RYHiwhfvkjzdbgmbdfkgjhadlkfthyo"

and don't be too polite, either.... "Hello, I was wondering if you could please let me meet Green Day."

You gotta be kind of funny with it. be like "You know... if you wanna be a super cool awesome person and let me meet the boys, that'd be awesome..."

(I once did this with a security guard in front of the Dakota Building in NYC when I wanted to meet Yoko Ono... he was really friendly, but he kept saying "sorry, I can not disclose that information" haha)

this way, if they say no (which will be most of the time) you won't feel as embarrassed, because it's more like a joke.

but if they say yes, then you are entitled to shit your pants.

LOL! I know what you mean! I'd be a nervous wreck if I met them... or actually I'm not sure exactly how I'd respond. My brain can't seem to hypothetically grasp how I'd react if I met 'em.

For the LA show, I'm just going to talk to anyone and see what that scores me!

Me too. I'm everyone's friend that night!

Just breath, Prisca. You'll be fine. Lol. They're just people. Awesome awesome people of course, but yerp. People. It's always been easy for me to meet and talk to celebrities with out getting freaked out. I don't know why. Mike made my stomach lurch excitedly when I saw him, but that was the only 2 second "omfg" moment I got. The rest was more of a "hell yes! This is fucking awesome!" moment.

Heh. Somewhat unrelated, somewhat not... but I won tickets / passes for NIN off Twitter back in May. Fast forward a month and I'm trying to get backstage after the show only to find out that the passes are no longer good for anything but a souvenir. Turns out Trent posted a message on NIN's forum the same day saying that they couldn't really accommodate any more people backstage at future shows, etc. (kind of a long story, they offered packages to meet the band yada yada for someone who needed a heart transplant). If only I had checked Twitter sometime throughout the day. Oh well. There was no guarantee to meet the band, anyway, but I have an odd fascination with being backstage at events and just soaking it all in and seeing how things work and what not.

Point is, backstage passes may seem cool and all, but I along with a ton of other NIN fans found out how disappointing they can be as well. While we weren't guaranteed to meet the band or anything, we were basically handed 'passes' that were good for nothing but our eyes to stare at.

I would so fucking drive to some other state to see them again if someone would sell me VIP passes. I wanted to meet Billie. :(

I've never had backstage passes. I won a set a pair of VIP passes once for Franz Ferdinand. But i never got the message till it was too late. Its really about being at the right place at the right time. I'd LOVE to meet Green Day and i'll try my hardest to meet them again and again. I wish everyone the best of luck and get lots of photos if you do meet the boys. :)

Congrats to Vanessa, I'd pay more then $20 for backstage passes. Love your photo of you and Mike. :)

I would eat a newborn for one backstage pass. And then regurgitate it and glue it back together wrong. And then i would repeat. And then I would sell it on ebay

..And then I would buy it.

rofl, but seriously. To get backstage would make my life complete :P I wish someone knew exactly how haha.

Stupid double post.. sorrrryyyy -_-

Btw, I wouldn't JUST buy it. I'd buy it and show the venue the receipt and say i bought it defective & use it to get into the show again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

pretty sure i would kill for some

Me too :/

Oddly enough, if I had the choice, I'd prefer to sing on stage with them rather than meet them. I prefer their on stage persona, I mean, that's the Green Day I know. It'd be too awkward and strange to go to a planned meet and greet, when I know I'll just stumble over my words and not be able to say much to them.

But I'd still chance my arm and hang out after shows to get something signed, that'd be pretty class.

i'd love to meet them backstage or go to soundcheck.

and i think i'll try the thing with the securities :D

but to be honest... i really wouldn't know how to react if they would stay right in front of me  ... i mean i for sure won't tackle them and be like OMFG :wub::wub: BILLIE MIKE & TRE!!!!! ... i probably couldn't say a word and blush

Thanks :)

Guys, I wouldn't bother trying to ask security. People tried that at my show and the security said they're not even allowed to talk to the band unless they're spoken to by them.

Oh, I'm definitely saying hi to you if I see you!

Duuuuuude, you saw Mike!? Explain. :)
