MassHysteria Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 i know this guy whos cousin works on the foro sol (where the concerts take place), and he gets that kinda stuff evry some time, but there is no chance he would get me a backstage pass for green day cause he hates me and he hates green day :/Money has its way of "softening" hard hearts
Miqui_Dee Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 My dad is a backstage caterer and at the Home Depot Center 2005 shows he worked for Green Day. On the 8th he got me and my friend Alex working passes (backstage all access passes basically) so that we could go to the show. We were forced to hang out in the dining room all day, and Billie and Tre went in and out of there during the course of the day. It was pretty boring being backstage, honestly. There's nothing going on except people moving cases around and loading things in and working. The band pretty much stays in their dressing room until they decide to go eat or they do sound check. I got to see Adie too in the dining room. Tre talked to me and my friend. It was pretty awesome. For soundcheck my friend and I still weren't allowed (on my dad's orders so he wouldn't lose his job) to go out and see them, but we could definitely hear it. It was awesome. We heard them play King for a Day and Boulevard of Broken Dreams, among others, but those are the two that stood out. I think they played a few other songs that they didn't even play later on that night. The best part was when the band all lined up backstage while the pink bunny was out onstage, and my dad and I (my friend was already out in the crowd watching the opening bands and such) were standing right next to them, and then when the music that cued them to run onstage came on, we all ran together towards the stage. except my dad and i had to run around it to go into the pit. I will never forget being backstage that day. I always have hope that my dad will work for them again so he can get us backstage again. I've been backstage and actually worked at other concerts, but those were for bands and artists I could care less about.
Guest Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 all my dignity will be lost by the end of this tourlol same. i dont care.
MassHysteria Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 As long as you don't like attack them or be all ZOMG ITZ GREEN DAY!1!1 to their faces, you should be fine. Just treat them like normal people.Mike is one of the nicest, most polite, down to earth guys that I've ever met and Billie seemed sweet too even though I didn't get a chance to talk to him myself. I haven't come close to meeting Tre, but I'm sure he's a nice, funny dude as well.Agreed, celebs always like it when you treat them like normal people. They don't get it enough.
fashionvictim86 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I would love backstage passes. But I'm pretty much convinced I"ll never meet the band again.
Sara. Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Almost an hour after Green Day stopped playing, we were about to leave the venue, then a guy came up and offered us one VIP after party pass. His friend came and gave him another (which was lucky because Brie was with me) and we did some haggling and got both for $20 dollars because we told him about how long we've been fans and how we met from a GD forum and stuff. They got us into a VIP after party where Billie, Mike, Adrienne, Jason F., and Jason W. were, along with Mike's daughter and more family and friends of the guys.OMG. you are so lucky
Vanessa Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I knowww. It was one of those right place, right time, once in a life time things.
norcalgreendayfan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I would love backstage passes. But I'm pretty much convinced I"ll never meet the band again.I would love to meet the band just once, I would be so happy with that
...staples? Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 So if I hang around the venue after the show I could possibly get them?
norcalgreendayfan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I knowww. It was one of those right place, right time, once in a life time things.Damn right I am holding out hope I get that lucky

cabot gal Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I'm not sure if I'd like to go backstage cause I'd just make a tit of myself :/ either that or I'd hug Mike and never let go XD
Sharmellow Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I would eat a newborn for one backstage pass. And then regurgitate it and glue it back together wrong. And then i would repeat. And then I would sell it on ebayThis deserves to go in my profile.
norcalgreendayfan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 This deserves to go in my profile. YES siggy it

Bohemian+Scandal Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Ha. Morton, your Cyanide and Happiness strip in your sig amuses me even though I actually dig Tokio Hotel. Ha.Man, I will be willing to do so much to get backstage passes or VIP in LA. I just hope the girl who's tagging along with me will.
HoneyDo666 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I'd love to meet them, they just seem so nice and down-to-earth. I might be breathless, but I wouldn't be in-their-faces crazy! But, yeah, backstage passes would make my birthday present even better...although it's kind of hard to top a Green Day concert!
Angela. Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 id pay a lot more than 20 bucks tbhIf I had to pay more than 20, I would.
Robin105 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I wonder if you ask a security guard nicely if they'll let you meet the band for a few minutes
norcalgreendayfan Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I wonder if you ask a security guard nicely if they'll let you meet the band for a few minutesI dunno, if that would work it could depend on the security gaurds mood or if they are under strict instructions that no one except those with passes gets in
Prisca Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm not sure if I'd like to go backstage cause I'd just make a tit of myself :/ either that or I'd hug Mike and never let go XDLOL! I know what you mean! I'd be a nervous wreck if I met them... or actually I'm not sure exactly how I'd respond. My brain can't seem to hypothetically grasp how I'd react if I met 'em. For the LA show, I'm just going to talk to anyone and see what that scores me!
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 LOL! I know what you mean! I'd be a nervous wreck if I met them... or actually I'm not sure exactly how I'd respond. My brain can't seem to hypothetically grasp how I'd react if I met 'em. For the LA show, I'm just going to talk to anyone and see what that scores me! to be true....i think ive developed a green day phobia....im pretty sure that if i ran into them somewhere, id run the other way...why?cause i have an image of how they are, and if i meet them, and they happen to be , well, dickheads, or if i just dont like them,,,, that would suck
Wolfdemon Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I have a friend whose friends with Billie, only problem is it's really hard to get in contact with him..
