punkrockerlori Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I agree, I have not heard a lot of his music but i find him annoying. In my opinion, he was not very good at the superbowl eitherSerious? He was amazing at the Superbowl! He even came out and did one of his classic songs Glory Days as if he was still in his young days. He was amazing at the Superbowl!
CarmenPunkGirl Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 i've thought about this a lot. it would be great if they would work together
SaintSaturn Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 Some nice responses here! For all of you who say you haven't heard much Bruce Springsteen, check out his album "Magic." It came out in 2007 I believe? It's very good, and I could totally picture Green Day doing "Radio Nowhere." And Bruce has been doing several covers this tour. He started his show off with "London Calling" in Hyde Park. Most of the covers are requests from people who bring signs. Usually the band has never played the song together, and they just wing it. It's really awesome. I think there have been some signs for "Good Riddance" but I'm not sure if that is true.
Miqui_Dee Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I can't stand him either...I just find his voice to be...um...not good? (Sorry for my lack of vocabulary) Dude, how are you so awesome?
Take me to Christie Road Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 No. No. No. While Bruce Springsteen is a cool guy and he's got a good message, I would hate for Green Day to do a show with him. I'd only go for Green Day and skip the Springsteen.
Sharmellow Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 That would be amazing. If I saw Green Day and Bruce Springsteen on stage together, I think I would drop dead right then and there. Yes, same here!
Juan Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 it'd be probably the same as doing it with U2. But the boss is cooler

He did that during Gaslight Anthem's set at Glastonbury and it was quite incredible. I would love to hear Green Day cover Bruce as well.

xBasKetxCaSex Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 don't get me wrong. I love Springsteen.but no. I would not like to see him with GD in any way. that's odd.
nathan13 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I can't imagine Billie singing The River or Born in the USA, he just doesn't have the voice for it, and i mean that in a good way.
Parley Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Bruce and Billie are so much alike in how they perform. You can see that they both love being in front of an audience and they both work full out to give a great show. They both are always in motion one way or the other, too. Billie is always running and Bruce is always dancing. Two of the hardest working people in rock.

HoneyDo666 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Dancing in the Dark with Green Day and the Boss would be awesome...I love Green Day and my parents love Bruce so this combo would be perfect for family unity reasons!
SaintSaturn Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 I can't imagine Billie singing The River or Born in the USA, he just doesn't have the voice for it, and i mean that in a good way.You picked two of the most generic songs possible. Billie would sound horrible trying to sing either of those songs. I'm talking about songs like "My Love Will Not Let You Down," "Radio Nowhere," and especially "Roulette." Those songs would sound great as Green Day covers (just off the top of my head, I could probably come up with some better ones if I put more thought into it).Oh, I just thought of a great possible cover. BADLANDS. And for the doubters who don't think Bruce Springsteen shows are high enough energy, just watch this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFAr2AbvvF8
