Jet Taman Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Here's mine that I made in 2004....Using this pic as a source...I made all the stickers myself
Jack96 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 And yes he still uses the original blue, only for certain songs. Blue is a Fernandes 59 revival strat. Made in Japan and yes that is the original neck, Fernandes used to make the replicas untill the were asked to stop making the fender style headstock. They originaly had the word fernandes on the head stock but they are known to peel off, witch finding one with the fernandes logo makes them somewhat expensive, around $500 to $1,000. You will have a very hard time finding them. And an even harder time finding a blue one. I found one in England for sale back in 2001 and snatched it up for about $800 US because I knew I'd probly never see one again. Billie put a seymour duncan jb humbucker in blue around late 1994. He had 2 other pickups in it before then. Anyway, I did all of this to make a blue copy and I ended up making three. one is a EXACT replica of blue around late 94. I mean exact, down to the datail of the chips in the paint in the same spots, what I call sticker guts (the nasty looking gummed up spots where sticker had been. I faded, cracked, and yellowed the pickguard just like Billies, Have the same seymour duncan. every detail is almost perfect. I say almost because of the stickers on the back. I don't know what they are of. I also think of myself as an artist and made up the stickers that I couldn't find and there as perfect as I can get. I don't think anyone other than Billie and a few others would know the diff. and would like to think that Billie might confuse them if they were side by side, but I know he wouldn't because like me I know MY guitar. the other two are of diff time periods. both are fernandes but not orig paint I had them painted blue because I can't find anymore. one looks like Billies around 1998 and the other I keep up with Blue as it is at the current time(when he removes one I remove one, when he adds one I add one). all three have the same detail down to the scratches, chips, dings, sticker guts, and torn stickers. I plan to take new pics and post more of the stickers as I scan and upload them to my computer. You sir are my hero
GreenDay808 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 this may be wayy off topic, byt does anyone know where i can get GD stickers? besides ebay???
NickD Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Ooh, that way. So you mean he still uses the original Blue for concerts?Mm, I doubt it, I don't really think it's in a very good state after all those years. But well. Maybe he does. Who knows.for the current tour he's said he began using it a lot more, or was planning on using blue.

I've been hospitalized for the past month. got out in time for the 25th tho.Krylon gloss blue ocean breeze. Just be sure to take the neck and pickguard off before painting, and for best results lightly sand the whole body with fine sand paper so that the paint won't peel over time. hold the can about a foot away and lightly apply thin coats. You might practice on something beforehand.Wait what? Where'd you hear that?Thats what i read on greendayauthority. I dont know if its going to be green day only but i di know that it will have alot of green day songs on it.
Mari91 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Thats what i read on greendayauthority. I dont know if its going to be green day only but i di know that it will have alot of green day songs on it.was that recent? because they may have been talking about that 3 song track packbtw thanks for the stickers! i've always wonder what was on blue and your rockband replica is looking good so far
justin1039 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Is it a spray-paint? or no.yes. then wet sanded, buffed, and clear coated. I didnt want to put to much money into it. But if you do it right it looks great. Hard to tell with cell phone pics. If you want you can order sonic blue paint from fender and have a automotive paint shop do it, but its costly. thats how I did my fernandes. I paid $200 each.

Steven Samuels Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 It is red electrical tape, but I don't have the hand coordination for that kind of work. I still haven't gotten started. *bummed* because I need my mom to get the paint since it isn't legal to sell spray paint to minors.
