Ila Reto Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 that sucks man, that's so irresponsible of them and they even had the nerve to give it back to you in such a bad state. a few years ago (like, 4 years) i used to carry around this picture of Billie with me to school. so this guy, he took it and ripped it up in front of me over a trash can.i managed to save a piece of BJ's hand, and i still keep it in my wallet. more recently, i let this girl borrow my Dookie album last November and she never gave it back.so i dont tryst anyone with my green day stuff, especially my vinyls. i'd have to kick some serious ass if someone even laid a finger on my vinyls.
Pati. Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Oh no no no I never borrow my Green Day stuff to anyone. They are to valuable, and I know how my friends treat stuff.

Sharmellow Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I only lend my things out to people I highly trust. Other than that, I just offer to burn them a CD instead of lending them the original. It's better to be safe than sorry in the end.
Ila Reto Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Wtf, the guy just randomly ripped it up for no reason? :/ yea, i used to have a folder of green day clippings (which has now grown into a 3-inch binder) and i used to take it to school. He'd take them all the time just to fuck with me (not literally) and i'd have to tell on him to give them back but that time he didnt and he ripped it up. lol it gets me kind of teary-eyed still because that was the 2nd picture i ever owned and he killed it! but now i know that any damages that happen to my Merch is my own fault. because none of it leaves the house unless it's safely in a suitcase or big purse
plasticpictureframe Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 When I was in 7th grade, I had pictures of Green Day taped inside my locker. The lockers in the school, didn't come with locks, and you weren't allowed to buy locks for them. I was out for a week with the flu, and when I came back, the pictures were either torn down, or written on. The principal didn't do anything, and didn't care about it. I flipped out, and no one got why I was so angry. I responded, by putting up more.

That guy didn't have to be such an asswipe. But yeah, I think we've all learned to be careful with our treasured Green Day stuff. No one is allowed to even touch my CDs for a second.
Starred Thoughts Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 i've lost my house keys and phone on more than one occasion, but my green day stuff is always in check ;]definitely burn songs onto a blank disc when lending to friends; i have loads of blank cds so whenever someone asks i make them one for them to have.. now everyone's happy :]
st.jimmy92 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 i cant believe all these people in the world are such irresponsible assholes...either they dont care about the band even to take care of real fans stuff or they just hate the band and us and destroy the stuff deliberately...we need to have a revolution...
Drink Drank Punk Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I strongly believe in sharing. Either get over it or have him buy you a new one. Never stop sharing though.
MusicGrl1986 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 This is why I don't lend things - including Green Day items - to anybody.Same here. I never let people borrow anything from me anymore no matter what is...cds, dvds, clothes, money, etc. Every time I let someone borrow something from me, I either never saw the item again or the item was returned totally ruined or destroyed.

Angie-Marie Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Wow, I can't believe people who borrow people's stuff and then trash it. If I borrowed something and something bad happened to it by accident, I would never even consider returning it in that shape. Unfortunately, I've also learned the hard way to not let anyone borrow my stuff. Luckily it wasn't a Green Day CD, just a non-Green Day related book. But I still had to yell at my friend and publicly tear her a new one to convince her to replace what she trashed. What's wrong with these people?

I don't think many people I know would do that.

I remember letting a friend of mine borrow a DVD a couple of years ago. She kept it for around two months. And when she gave it back to me, the DVD itself was scratched to hell, and the DVD case was ripped and wrinkled, as well. I just don't get how you can treat someone's property like that. I mean, I remember back in '06 when an old friend let me borrow her AI CD. I took very good care of it. I made sure that I set the case down carefully, and I never scratched the CD up, because I know that I would be angry if that happened to me (and it has).

Katherine Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 After thinking about it, I used to have a picture of Tre in my locker, and one of my friends used to have my combination to my locker and would open it to use my mirror every morning. One day I was sick and my friends stole said picture of Tre and "forgot" to return it for two weeks. D:
Dookie93 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I don't let anyone even touch my Green Day stuff, unless they're standing next to me. My cousin picked up my American Idiot single, dropped it, and cracked the case. So no one touches my prized possessions (my babies if you will) XD

My cousin picked up my American Idiot single, dropped it, and cracked the case. So no one touches my prized possessions (my babies if you will) XDThat would make me mad. I would consider my most valued GD possession to be my Fox Theater Program. (I didn't go to the show... I just won it off of eBay.) And if someone so much as ripped it a centimeter, I would flip on them. And I'm not the kind of person to get angry easily, so it would be pretty bad.
