None taken I personally sometimes take issue with those in middle America at times

Very Nice! Oh, about the hugging, like you said, they tell you repeatedly you can't, but if you ask, the guys will do it, and the guards can't stop them. I think they do it to discourage as many people as possible from doing it, but there is always a brave soul that will try anyways. Several at the LA one got hugs. The same concept goes for people getting two things signed I think.

Have an awesome time at the show!

lol in new york everybody got a hug and lots ppl got kisses. i know i did :D they pretty much threw all the rules out the window

Oh god, that deserved a facepalm. facepalm.png

I think she deserves more than a punch...

yes. that was so...yuck.

I got to West Acres Mall around 11:45 AM and started my long wait in line....at about 1:40 they announced Green Day was running a little late but rest assured that they will still be there. To keep all the waiting fans happy - Hot Topic started giving out some candy and asking trivia questions releating to Green Day. If you got a question right...you got (probably) a $5 gift card to Hot Topic. At about 2:40pm we saw Green Day's bus pull up and we were all waiting for them to walk in - but I guess they went in through a back door.

I was around 40th in line. And they probably let around 20 people in Hot Topic at a time...and I ended up getting cut off the end of the group so I had to be the first person in the next group of people. Haha, I was kinda nervous for that. I don't like being first. But when we finally got in the store - we had to wait back a little farther from the other people getting autographs - but I looked through this little spacing in a merchandise rack and I could see Mike and Billie!

It was pretty unreal, but before I knew it I was up at the table. (First it was Mike, Billie, then Tre') I handed Mike my guitar and was like "Hey Mike!" and he was like "Hey!" He saw my acoustic guitar and was like "Wow, look at this thing!" ...He liked my guitar. After he was done autographing it I put out my hand and he shook it - and I was like "It was nice to meet you" and he was like "Yeah, you too!"

Then onto Billie - I did the same and said "Hey Billie!" and he replied "Hey, how are you?" Then he autographed my guitar and I said something about I'm really excited for the concert tonight and that its my first Green Day concert and he said "Really? Cool! Well have a good time!" and then I went onto Tre but I realized I forgot to shake Billie's hand!! So, I kind of looked back at Billie and put out my hand but he didnt see me cuz he was looking at someone else....so I thought about it and just decided to say "Billie." and then he saw my hand and shook it.

By that time Tre had already signed my guitar and the security guard was like "Here you go." So I was like "See ya later, Tre!!" and he was like "See ya later!"

My mind was obviously not all there so when I left the store - I realized I didn't give them the letter I had wrote them but oh well I guess...hopefully I'll get the chance to meet them again someday. :) I'm happy - and so excited for the concert tonight!

---------

Side note: They were really strict on cameras. None were allowed in the store. And I didn't see anyone getting hugs from the guys - so I just put out my hand for a handshake. At least I got to touch them...Haha. Tre is still sportin' his blonde hair and of course was wearing sunglasses.

Haha - oh yeah and a friend of mine has floor tickets to the concert tonight. I told him he better try to get pulled on stage to play guitar...and he said if he gets on stage he'll yell my name into the microphone. Haha. :)

that's a really intersting story. In new york they wouldn't let anybody get anything except the cd signed and i had to sneak my 1000 hours past a security guard to get it signed. They were only letting people take pics from this really crappy angle but still it sounds like they were more strict about touching at Hot Topic, but less strict on what you can get autographed. Everyone in new york got a hug pretty much from all the guys and i kissed Billie and no one said anything.

super congrats on the guitar :)))

I wish they'd do more stuff like this, but England can dream

hahaha i was looking at my signed deluxe cd and going all nostalgia of may 15th, im glad i saw this. im sorry about the no hugs though.

and to whoever said about tre and sunglasses, im pretty sure he is hammered during these things, i recall someone smelling alcohol off of him during the nyc signing X]

I talked to one of the guys who was working at the best buy and he said they were all drinking lots of champagne during the whole thing.

they like england. If they do a meet and greet there you know it will be like way better than these ones. tho personally I've thought it would be funny if they would do them in more awkward random places like ice cream shops and stuff. lol

Can anyone see the pics on gd.com? I open the meet and greet ones but it shows up as the concert ones....

Has Green Day ever done a meet and greet in England?

Did anyone else see Mike and Tre at Taco Bell (Accross from the Fargo Dome)? I have pics, i will post later. Tre took orders at the drive through!

I'd be pissed if they came to my area and did a signing in a Hot Topic, I can't stand that store.

Same in LA

Actually it isn't Hot Topic that isn't allowing cameras, it's Green Day's security that isn't.

Oh, well I was just going off of what they told us at the LA Hot Topic, they said something about how Hot Topic never allows cameras in the store because they don't want people taking pictures of the merchandise. Which is bull shit, cause if you're there to meet Green Day, why the fuck would you care about photographing the merchandise!

here is a (crappy) video of Mike and Tre at Taco Bell in Fargo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt_zDwHDs3Y

They stopped because Mike said that he hadn't had Taco Bell in 6 years... to which Tre replied "and he just started shitting solid again!"

Tre made tacos and took drive through orders! Even signed autographs, photos, etc.

This was way better than the mall!

I love how Tre slowly walked away with his soda. Wow, if I went to the Drive-Thru and saw Tre in the window...let's just say I would be a little thrown off.

Haha - Wow. Now I wished I actually really ate at Taco Bell and that I stopped there yesterday! But I did meet them at the mall....but it would be intense to walk into Taco Bell or go thru the drive thru and see mike and tre! Wow. That would have been awesome to be working there yesterday.

If he was serving food and I went through I would probably just carry on through and then think " God that guy looked just like Tre Cool" !!

aw man I ate at that taco bell before the show! I knew I should have waited :( haha..

I went to the meet and greet and got the book of my copy of Kerplunk signed. I was pretty much in a daze the whole time.. I said hi to mike and then hi to billie and he said hey how are you and I said good you? and he said good, I like your shirt and I was like thanks.. and then Tre said I like your hottubs shirt and I was like thanks I'm trying to be a little different than all the other people here (btw I feel like if I see one more 21CB shirt I'll puke) and Billie looks over even though he was signing my brothers stuff and goes "it's good to be different" and I was like yeaah.. thanks.. and ran away because I was like hyperventilating. It was pretty intense and I didn't keep my cool at all.. but I'm pretty jazzed I didn't cry in front of them or puke or something.
