idiot4u Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I really like that he doesn't dumb down his language and he gives his listeners credit for being intelligent, which I know GD fans obviously are...
Dylan. Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I had used many variants but before the boys, I had never used "cock-smoking". Shame....it's a big part of my life now.....wait...that came out wrong.
saraHsunshine Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 ^^ I think sassafras roots are used for making these unstable liquids... for some reason I remember that from a class I had... and it sounds like nobody really knows what billie meant when he said "malakite" yet. lol "malakite" is a type of rock that can be used in jewelry :) I think I may have been brainwashed into saying 'you know' too much because of listening to so many fucking interviews with Billie
Peacemakerpunkgirl Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 This is a great thread, I've already read 5 pages xD But I will continou... Most of these words are new, but pretty much cuz English is my 2nd foreign language... anyway for example somebody mentioned lobotomy, but I've know this word, cuz it's the same in my own language. I don't really remember, I think 90% of my voc is from Billie Joe. I've been laerning English since the first Green Day song I've heard, but learing only 3 years in school. So I teach myself with helping of BJ. And Ya know ... xD
Foxboro Holiday Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I wanna know what Lushotology means! It sounds... interesting
Isabel Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 and it sounds like nobody really knows what billie meant when he said "malakite" yet. lol There was a discussion about that before. Malakite is a green coloured mineral and Billie Joe's eyes are green. "She holds my malakite so tight so, never let go"
theeulogy Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Nimrod My e-mail is nimrod-91 and all people asks me "What the hell nimrod is??"
Isabel Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Nimrod is a Mesopotamian monarch mentioned in the Book of Genesis, who also figures in many legends and folktales. He is depicted in the Bible as a mighty ruler and nation builder who founded many cities, including the great Babel or Babylon. Despite his stance as a powerful leader, his reputation was tarnished by his traditional association with the construction of the Tower of Babel. Outside of the Bible, several ruins preserve Nimrod's name, and he is featured in the midrash.
Empty Laughter Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 My first languege is spanish, so when I started to listen GD i leaned lots of new words & I think BJ has improved his writing cos in 21CB there're a lot more 'complicated' words (at least for me ) & I don't know if already someone explained it, but I don't know what 'platypus' is u.u someone can explain it to me.. please? and still don't know exactly what some phrases mean like "horseshoes & handgrenades" , "dry ice" & some others that I can't remember right now xD
Guest Shangri-La Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 i don't know if you guys realize this, but people are asking the same things on every single page of this thread. it doesn't hurt to go back and read at least the first few pages.. My first languege is spanish, so when I started to listen GD i leaned lots of new words & I think BJ has improved his writing cos in 21CB there're a lot more 'complicated' words (at least for me ) & I don't know if already someone explained it, but I don't know what 'platypus' is u.u someone can explain it to me.. please? and still don't know exactly what some phrases mean like "horseshoes & handgrenades" , "dry ice" & some others that I can't remember right now xD a platypus is a creepy looking mammal. Beej said something about just wanting to name a song Platypus, so it means absolutely nothing. The saying is "close/almost only counts in horseshoes in handgrenades." You get points in playing both horseshoes and handgrenades for being close. It would be like saying something wrong in school and then saying "I was close.." Then your teacher would say the phrase. And John Kiffmeyer named the song Dry Ice because he said he imagined it as the type of song that would have a fog machine while played live.
