When the gunshots pierce their walls it's like the lowest point of their relationship that is threatening to kill them (their relationship), but when Gloria looks up and stops screaming it is like she has survived the worst of it and is now prepared to continue loving Christian harder than she ever had done before.When the phone rings, I see this to be warning bells (her better senses) telling her that she is headed for trouble if she stays with him, but she ignores it. Throwing the phone in the fish tank is like drowning out the warning. She looks up at Christian, he looks at her after thinking he was going to lose her but then realises she will stick with him. That is when they purposefully walk to each other and kiss. Gloria loves Christian and will stick by him through good and bad.That is how I interpreted the story of the video. Green Day performing in the actual house Gloria and Christian are in, I think is because they are telling the story.

I like how they're both straightforward representations of the songs, and the fact they have plenty of the band doing what they do best in them. But those characters are bound to irritate me in some way at some point so I might be on the Know Your Enemy side with you

I think the song itself has many more layers to it than "just" the relationship between Christian and Gloria, but if focusing on the "surface plot" of the album was what they were aiming for in the vid, I'd have to say they did a really good job with it.

And for rebels they sure are clean and tidy/neat. And extremely vacant looking. Save for the model-y stink faces scattered throughout. This video was okay. At least it wasn't a tie-in with transformers, using giant robot ridiculousness.But since this is only an OK song, its not at all surprising for the video to be just OK too.
