Lauren Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 as someone said, the riff is played on guitar after the first chorus on the album version, and sometimes live as well!its been reincarnated i thought it did that in the demo, too.
Anja Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I know it doesn´t really belong in here but I didn´t want to open a new thread.I remember someone asking if there was a guitar book for the new album and I just found one on EBay: Click!
music_that_is Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 ^^Please please let us know if you see one for piano anywhere Here's my crappy 'tutorial', if you want to call it that, on how to play just the intro ">
Dookie93 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I wanna play with the demo and the new version, and put the piano on the new version to see what it sounds like
Eirik Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 ^^Please please let us know if you see one for piano anywhere Search "21st Century Breakdown" on books on ebay, you'll get two results, the guitar book and piano/song book.
thenextsexpistol_mak Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I liked much more the demo i cant decide between both
Sharmellow Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I was kinda hoping they would release this as a side-B track or with 21 Guns single instead of Favorite Son...
gloria. Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I'm a little meh about Favorite Son being the B-side.I wanted to hear Drama Queen!Anyways, I think I prefer the demo piano version than the official one.I'm just a sucker for pianos. :]
Jaymee!! Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 dont wanna sound rude but how the hell can you play piano with those nails? It annoyed the hell out of me while watching. nice video though   I move my fingers over the keys in a melodic manner. They're my own nails, I always keep them on the longer side, and they obviously don't get in the way of my playing. I've been playing since I was 10, so I don't think they really affect my playing in any way.
RebelofSuburbia Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 ha, I never really listened to the demo because I wanted to avoid hearing anything from 21CB before May 15th. I remembered the piano intro because I'd heard the demo once. But I just listened to the demo and wow so many lyrics were changed I really liked the chorus 'There is a war that's inside my head / that questions the results and lies / While breaking my back 'till I'm damn near well dead / when enough ain't enough to survive' And I also loved the lyric 'I'm taking a loan on my sanity for the redemption of my soul'. So shame they didn't make it to the final cut.Aside from that, I don't really have a favorite. The piano intro is nice, but a bit too long which makes it a bit boring. The intro on the album isn't all that exciting either but it really fits with the feel of the album. I guess I would've liked the album version as it is now, but with those lyrics I mentioned above still in it.
