Marsupial Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 You know that saying "too much of a good thing..."? I remember when you couldn't take a shit without hearing/seeing Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It got to the point where I would skip it on the album. I still have trouble listening to it. So yes, there is such a thing. Same, ha! That was the first song (besides Good Riddance) that I was really obsessed with! It was the first Green Day music video I ever saw and after watching it the first time, I would play it incessantly. Now, it's just sort of obnoxious because I overplayed it. I think there are certain Green Day songs that I will get sick of (like BOBD), but it's impossible to get sick of listening to the band in general!!!
BIBARAGURORIA Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Oh, most definitely. I used to listen to nothing but Green Day, now I haven't listened to them in what seems like weeks.
armatage Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Yeah. There could be too much of Green Day. It once happened to me (please don't kill me!) I stood awake the whole night and listened to Green Day the whole time and in the morning when I wasn't listening to music anymore they were still stuck in my head. And it continued for the rest of the day. And, yeah, the next day, too. I got quite sick over them then but I'm fine again.
Katarina. Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 No. Though I must say there are days I simply don't listen to them cause I'm addicted to The Living End at that point. It's like that most of the time. Green Day, Green Day, The Living End and so on. But such a thing as TOO much Green Day? Never
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I'm gonna say no. You want to listen to Green Day/watch Green Day, or whatever constantly, and you don't get sick of it... then, no.
HoneyDo666 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I never get tired of them because they're always evolving and the music is just too damn good!
GreenDayisAmazing Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Umm no I don't think so. They are amazing!!!
eastbayweirdo Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I listen to them all day long, everyday. And if I'm not listening to Green Day, its PHGP or TFHT :] Id love to live in a room where everything was Green Day related (even appliances, etc.). ^____^
Bohemian+Scandal Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Most definitely, yes. I need variety in my music or else I go mad. I couldn't imagine listening to nothing but Billie Joe's voice. Don't get my wrong, I love his voice, but just the though hurts my brain. You guys are so hardcore. Ha.

Smoothed Out Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 No not for us anyway We wouldn't be here, if we thought there could be any chance of us getting sick of Green Day
BIBARAGURORIA Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 No not for us anyway We wouldn't be here, if we thought there could be any chance of us getting sick of Green Day Um, not everybody here is obsessed with Green Day, hun. I used to be, but now I've...sort of grown out of them.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 No not for us anyway We wouldn't be here, if we thought there could be any chance of us getting sick of Green Day But not listening to Green Day 24/7 doesn't mean you're sick of it I mean, I can handle purely Green Day for a while, but there has to be some variety, I don't want to listen to only Green Day, no matter how great they are. Also, there's a difference between being sick of them and growing out of them or just not listening to them a whole lot anymore. I love Green Day to death, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a point where I'm just like, I want to listen something else now, enough Green Day.
son Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 im gonna be the one to say YES,. personally, green day becomes annoying, but the sole reason is because of really annoying/douchebag fans, its an embarrassment to relate to them
Metanoia Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 to be honest....i think there is......when i first got into them like 3/4 years ago i listened to them ALL THE TIME REALLY and now when i listen to any music too much....i at some point cant listen to it anymore...so i need my breaks so that when i listen again after a while im in new huge awe again and appreciate it more what i have in their music ect. that my point....
Miss Hedgie Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 to be honest....i think there is......when i first got into them like 3/4 years ago i listened to them ALL THE TIME REALLY and now when i listen to any music too much....i at some point cant listen to it anymore...so i need my breaks so that when i listen again after a while im in new huge awe again and appreciate it more what i have in their music ect. that my point.... This. When I was 13 they were all I listened too. But I like going back to an album or song and thinking wow I love it. This is why I love it.
Marlee Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 No, i don't think it's possible for me. Their music means a lot to me. i can't imagine NOT being a fan and being sick of them. I always joke around and say I need a daily dose of Green day, but it's actually kind of true.
Mar Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Oh, I think it's possible to have too much of anything. I stopped listening to them for a while after I found out their tour was fucking me over this year out of sadness and a tad bit of bitterness, and it wasn't bad. At the very least, it's certainly possible to talk about them too much.
Velocity Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Short term, yes. Long term, absolutely not. I might not listen to them at all for a week or two, but I always ALWAYS come back to them.
