gloria. Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Nope, I love these boys. But I thought Boulevard of Broken Dreams was played waaay too much.As well as American Idiot, Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends.I'd always skip them and listen to everything else on the CD.
Vanessa Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 There is. Almost all those who say there isn't are gonna be pissed in a few years when they get bored of them mostly.
Hermione Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^Lots of people are massively into a band for years and years or their whole life, I don't think it's that unlikely to happen. Think of all the Beatles fans who've loved them since the 60s. And the people who get bored of them won't be pissed, because they'll have got bored of them naturally and be happy listening to whatever new bands they've got into. Everyone's a winner!
...staples? Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^ I agree. There some times when you just get sick of hearing certain songs cause they're played too much. That happened to me with BOBD. I think Green Day is just one of those bands that I never get sick of...I can always listen to their music and have been doing so for years. There's not too many bands out there like that. I do believe it's important to have variety in your music though...like I don't exclusively listen to green day.I know how it is with BOBD. I was listening to the album last night and I had to fight all urges to flip to the next song when it came on. It's been a few years since I actually listened to it because it seemed that it was shoved down my throat so much But I listened to it! Woop!
Bexie. Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 yea of course there is its called greendayitis.. unfortunately its a curable disease but only by death..another unfortunate thing would indeed be that we ALL suffer from it
Sharmellow Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I've been listening to them nonstop lately, but that's probably because the concert is in 8 days. I'll stop listening to them as frequently in a few weeks or so to the minimal again.
Princess Consuela Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^Lots of people are massively into a band for years and years or their whole life, I don't think it's that unlikely to happen. Everyone's a winner! You should be a diplomat I had 'too much of Green Day' moment today. After listening to the whole 21st CB 3 times in a row I gave up
Isabel Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Nope, I love these boys. But I thought Boulevard of Broken Dreams was played waaay too much.As well as American Idiot, Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends.I'd always skip them and listen to everything else on the CD.But then surely there is such a thing as too much Green Day. If there wasn't, then you wouldn't be skipping those songs.^Lots of people are massively into a band for years and years or their whole life, I don't think it's that unlikely to happen. Think of all the Beatles fans who've loved them since the 60s. Everyone's a winner!I'd say she probably means people who are majorly obsessed with them. It's highly unlikely that you can remain an obsessed, crazed fan forever.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^I'm doing pretty well so far That makes two of us. See you in Rocktober.
Isabel Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^I'm doing pretty well so far Well I still love Green Day as much as have for the last 8 years...I'm just not as obsessed with them as I was when I was a teenager. Because well, that was scary
Hermione Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^ Scary.......but it feels SO right. That makes two of us. See you in Rocktober. Yes indeedy
Jack96 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 alright, so I work in a store that sells tons of Green Day stuff. We just got in 21st Century Breakdown t-shirts, and of course, i got it right away. I own practically everything we sell at the store (check out my sig if you wanna see my sweet collection!!) We're now playing 21st Century Breakdown in the mix everyday, so I hear the whole cd probably twice a day (I could sing the whole cd after only 2 days! lol)My question is... do you think you could ever have TOO much Green Day? Could you ever get sick of them? Me, I live, breathe, eat, and poop Green Day. I hear them at work and then I listen to them at home too and I'm STILL not sick of them!!You poop green Day thats unhealthy check with your doctor
Angie-Marie Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I know how it is with BOBD. I was listening to the album last night and I had to fight all urges to flip to the next song when it came on. It's been a few years since I actually listened to it because it seemed that it was shoved down my throat so much But I listened to it! Woop! That's exactly how I am with BOBD. When I first heard it, I thought it was a wonderful song but then I just heard it way too many times. I just really sat down and listened to it for the first time in a while not too long ago and I can appreciate again now.
arzosah30 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 For me personally, no... In the media, yes...When I need a break from GD themselves, I delve into their influences, peers etc to see the background to their music.. Still related but something fresh..
minorityxdisturbed Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I love Green Day, maybe by the years I will like them, not love them, but I'm sure that I'll always love them, they are fucking great, they are my favourite band, they had changed a lot of things in my life for better, so I won't hate them, maybe sometimes you need to have a Green Day's break like most of people, it always happen but it doesn't mean that you hate them.
Sister of Grace Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 No. I can get tired of certain songs if I listen to them over and over again but I just change song or album and it's all good Never too much Green Day cuz they have alot of material.
Opezi Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 yeah i could never get tired of them i listen to a green day cd everynight to go to bed and listen to them at least once a day i can't get tired of it but i will say know your enemy i sort of got tired of it, i still like it but they overplayed that song way too much lol
ainsley_atombomb Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 Acatually, come to think of it, when American Idiot first came out they WAY over played Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio and I used to skip it when it came on in the store.
Chad is Rad Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 There can never be too much Green Day. Simple as that.
amy_runs Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I still say no. It's been 5 years for me. Not sick of them at all
