Hermione Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Same for me, I listen to Green Day basically on a daily basis. I just cannot get enough and I listen to them 197868634 more times than any other band I listen to and I know everything about them. I like that. But I do sometimes get burnt out on CD's. I have to change them around so that I don't have too much of a CD and then I have to put it down. I learned that with American Idiot when it first came out. Yeah the first two years I listened to it every single day all day basically then I got too much of it, and I put it down for 6 straight months and listened to my other Green Day CD's until I found the love again. But I try not to get myself burnt out on them again. Its hard to get too much of Green Day for me, but while they are still my favorite band and that will never change I do listen to other bands too in my meantime. I even have mini-phases where certain bands are my second favorite and then I like another band while those bands are still in what I play. It just adds to what I like personally. But its hard for me to ever get burnt out on Green Day.Yeah I know what you mean about switching CDs around, but that just comes naturally. If I do listen to one loads of times it doesn't seem to make a difference to how much I enjoy it the next time, I don't get burnt out.The only Green Day CD I've listened to in the last month is 21st Century Breakdown (except for one listen of Stop Drop And Roll ) and I have no worries of getting sick of it. I can listen to one album over and over or a selection, just depends what I feel like.
Hermione Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Run a Green Day site. It'll suck the fun right out Boo! You love it really
Guest Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I say no, anybody who knows me would say yes. But they are wrong of course
Spark of Insanity Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Yeah I know what you mean about switching CDs around, but that just comes naturally. I can listen to one album over and over or a selection, just depends what I feel like.I do that now, but with American Idiot. I listened to it every single day for hours on end about twice or three times through an entire day (I'm counting the times I would talk to my friend and she had it playing in the background enough for me to hear it) and I didn't have as many Green Day CD's as I do now so it was hard to change them around. I don't get burnt out when I hear one loads one day and then later hear it again, but within a two year span of nothing but that I got burnt out. So I like to keep it fresh, by interchanging them. Then I ended up wanting AI even more after that.I can listen to an album or anything over and over again and not get burned out, unless I do it for 6 hours a day for 2 years straight without listening to anything else pretty much like last time.
The Disappearing Boy Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 possibly, if i heard them every day at work.
ainsley_atombomb Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 i haven't got sick of it yet.... i mean, i've been working here for like 3 years and i'm not tired of them.but theoretically i suppose you could have "too much"
Laura! Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 If you take it in moderation you can't have too much. Like when I first got into them back in '05 I listened to them straight probably for a year. And then after that I started listening to other bands. I still loved them and they were still my favorite, but i just didn't listen to them as much. But when 21CB came out I'm listening to them a whole lot more.So I guess there can be too much if you let it be too much.Hopefully you guys understand what I mean.
Mayra Vicious Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I need my daily dose of Green Day I need to listen to them a hour or 2 every day, and sometimes I listen to them all day So for me it's not too much Green Day.Have done that since I got into them ...like 15 years
Rezurgam Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Yes, there is. Depends on the person. It takes a lot for me to get sick of them.
louizex Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 yeah sometimes i get sick of albums or songs, but there is always at least one i am utterly in love witha few years ago it was b of broken dreams and now its know your enemy. tho to be fair i never liked know your enemy.yeh point being their music is so diverse i could never get bored of them completley!
CaesarSalad Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 it really depends. i know of only one album that i've been listening to. usually twice a day. every day. for about a year. and it's never boring. but that's rare (and maybe a bit weird) and i think you're definitely going to get sick of green day or, at least, 21st century breakdown. btw, it sounds like a cool job you have there xD
TheBullwinkle Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I never get sick of Green Day, but there will be times that I listen to other artist's music more than theirs.
eighteen Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 According to my last two exboyfriends there is.. haha
Sharmellow Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 No, you can never have "too" much of Green Day because they have so many songs and albums. If you ever get tired of an album, pop in a different Green Day album.
Miqui_Dee Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Well, there was a short period of time where I had stopped listening to them just because I got caught up in other things, but no, there's never too much Green Day. I don't think I'll ever be sick of them. Ever. Not even when I'm dead.
Peace and Rainbows Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 It's balance. if i didn't have anything else to listen to then i would get sick. It just depends what mood your in
norcalgreendayfan Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 According to my last two exboyfriends there is.. hahaWell good thing they are exes cause they dont know nothing
Boston Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I listened to 21CB for two weeks straight at least four times a day. I haven't listened to the full album with that intensity since it came out, but I still listen to it on shuffle and whatnot. However, I still listen to their other music daily. So I don't think there can be enough Green Day.
