gdpony Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Well, it really depends. If you constantly listen to the same album everyday for the past few weeks, then yes, ultimately you'd get tired of them. But what's great about Green Day is that they have so many albums to choose from. So, if you varied it up, it's all good. At least, in my opinion. Hi. Stop fighting please. Anyway, like Sharmel said, Green Dy has so many songs that it's very hard to get tired of them. And all their album are so diverse and conpletely different. totally agree with both of you, you can't get bored of all their music, it's all just so different! and I think that's what I love most about the guys!
Sharmellow Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Hi. Stop fighting please. Anyway, like Sharmel said, Green Dy has so many songs that it's very hard to get tired of them. And all their album are so diverse and conpletely different. Thank you. And holy shiz, so much hatin' in this thread. Like really, I don't understand why people do these in forums - or in real life at that matter. But hey, it's none of my business.
Mar Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I wish we were all happy like we used to be in middle school. I wish I could bake a cake full of rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy... (Sorry, couldn't resist!) Well, it really depends. But what's great about Green Day is that they have so many albums to choose from. So, if you varied it up, it's all good. At least, in my opinion. You know, that's a really good point. When I got sick of them in late 2005, it may have been because the only albums of theirs I was familiar with were American Idiot and International Superhits. So, it's not like I had a lot of other options. But now that I'm familiar with their whole catalog, I think I'm less likely to get burned out on them for a REALLY long period of time, like, beyond a couple of weeks. If I get sick of one album or one "era," I could move on to another.

k-tea Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Yes. I have a problem with getting randomly hooked on an album or a few songs, and only listening to that for a period of time. Which makes me temporarily sick of Green Day.
Erica. Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Wow, angry thread. And I agree with how great it is that there's so much variety. It's almost like not listening to the same band sometimes. But after trying to listen to the band non-stop for the last few weeks, I realized that I just couldn't do it. I'm trying to learn all of the lyrics, but I also have three thousand other songs on my iPod that deserve to be listened to too. If Green Day comes on shuffle, then I will without a doubt listen to them. But I'm not going to let them distract me from other artists.
RebelofSuburbia Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 probably yes. I listen to at least one song every day (not always intentional but they tend to dominate my itunes so they come by on shuffle mode xD) but I don't think I would stand nothing but Green Day every day. I'm a music fan too And to be honest I never really understood the whole merchandise thing. Sure I have a shirt or two and I used to have posters on my wall, but other than that I think it's mostly just a money drain from Warner's. So there's definetly too much green day merchandise
Mari91 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 So true. WMUWSE made me want to kick puppies back in September/October 2005. to this day i cant listen to WMUWSE! i ALWAYS skip it I wish we were all happy like we used to be in middle school. I wish I could bake a cake full of rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy... (Sorry, couldn't resist!) mean girls
DookieTheThird Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I just can't get enough of them...that's all I do:I eat, breathe and feel GD.I love them to F*ing much to get bored of them.
ColetteCool Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 ^ I agree. I'm glad Green Day isn't a band that you get sick of easily. If I ever get bored of listening to them, I just listen to the Foxboro Hot Tubs or The Network. Green Day's music is pretty diverse, but if you listen to the same album over and over again then I think it's inevitable you'll get fairly bored. ^ I don't know... I guess that depends from person to person... Personally I was never ever tired of them. I can be like months without listening to their music (sometimes not really my choice ) but I'll always be on here, seeing what they're currently working on, and watching new videos from the concerts and seeing their pictures (ga), it's, like I said before a routine for me (and usually the best part of my days). I love these guys too much and they are such a huge part of my life that I just can't think of having too much of them going on my life I kind of wish I could ever get to a time in my life that I would say.. I've seen Green Day Too many times! I agree with this. I just love them so much, it's kind of hard for me to say "Yeah I kind of grew out of them" or something alone those lines.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 comment in advance: I did not read page 11 and 12 so I don't know what's been talked about there and all. No. how does it mean that? I listen to other music, because I have other favorite bands and artists, but I can never get enough of Green Day, I don't go a day with out listening to Green Day, and I never get annoyed of hearing about them. Then you didn't read what I wrote properly. You don't listen to only Green Day for a reason; because that would be too much. For variety or whatever, if it's for variety that means you don't want to listen to the same --> 'the same' is Green Day --> too much Green Day "too much" is in there --> 'too much Green Day' exists. If you can indeed never get enough of Green Day, that means you could listen to only Green Day 24/7 and only ever do Green Day related things. If you couldn't do that, it means it's too much Green Day. Last four words of that are again, 'too much Green Day'. I'm not attacking anyone but it's just; I cannot get my head around how there couldn't be 'too much Green Day'. If you really can listen 24/7 etc without getting tired of them, then indeed too much Green Day doesn't exist for you.
Maddy. Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I don't think I'll ever fully grow out of Green Day. Yes, they are amazing and all of that and I can never get enough of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. The rest is boring, bar a few. But the afore mentioned two albums are simply genius and never cease to amaze me. It's beautiful music and I'm proud of them for creating such a masterpiece. But sometimes, I really can't stand them for a while. There's been a period - a few months ago - that Green Day, The Network and Foxboro Hot Tubs were all I ever listened to. I thought they were the shit and all. But times change and so did I. I completely grew out of The Network and I only find 3 of Green Day's albums really worth listening to anymore. I've recently been discovering much more music. My vision has broadened much more than it was when I was younger. It's not complete yet, I still limit myself to the music that I know at the moment. But the past few months have been very adventurous in terms of music for me. I discovered so many bands that I love, including rediscovering my long lost loves 30 Seconds To Mars and, yes, Avril Lavigne. Haters gonna hate. I think it's healthy to broaden your horizons when it comes to music and not just stick to the old and trusted Green Day. At some point you reach a breaking point and it's time for something new. So, for me, yes, there can be a too much of Green Day. comment in advance: I did not read page 11 and 12 so I don't know what's been talked about there and all. It's just endless bickering and misunderstandings. I completely agree with you.
ChelseaWhatsername Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 But the truth is, none of you guys even remotely know who 'I' am. You look at a few posts of mine you disagree with or whatever, and you instantly think, 'OMG I HAET DIS BITCH WUT WUT'. A few posts on GDC you disagree with seriously don't say anything about who I am, and if you think that they do, well, then that's your deal. Late reply. I just had to say something. Remember in the spam thread, you expected Nikki (Pomegranate) to know you were joking when you TALKED IN ALL CAPITALS? I got a kick out of that because she had never talked to you before, which means she does in fact not know you, and, usually, people are yelling/angry when they talk in caps. Do you expect us to understand these things right away? And then turn around and say we don't know you? I'm not sure if I'm making sense but if I am, please explain.

It's over with.
Maddy. Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Stop fighting. Get the fuck out of this thread, please. It's annoying me, and probably tons of other people. If you have to be so immature over something so stupid, please take it somewhere else. This thread is for discussing about if you could ever get enough of Green Day. You're just being completely off topic and very immature. Now just go away before the mods close this thread. I'm all for discussion, but in the rightful thread. But I'm pretty sure your useless argument has no rightful thread. So just agree to not being able to agree, for fuck's sake.
ChelseaWhatsername Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Chelsea, oh my god. Also, so I'm not so much spamming, yes there is such a thing as too much. Even for me. Just like too much exercise. Being away from Green Day music for 5 days like I had been some days ago, it was even better coming back home and having my iTunes again. Breaks are good for you.
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Please just let the argument go guys, it's really not that big of a deal. There is no need to elaborate any further.

You're right, my two posts contradict each other --- I didn't realise that until you pointed it out. Nobody's perfect, and I stand accused. For lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse. I don't know why I'm bothering to reply to you, though, especially considering you're Pomegranate's friend. You don't actually want an honest reply to your post ... You just want to start up shit again, see if you can get anything more to giggle over in PMs or on FaceBook or Twitter or whatever. With that said, what you guys don't seem to understand is that I'm human, too, just like you. I have faults and emotions and I say stupid shit and I make stupid mistakes, just like you guys. Only diff is that I don't go around attacking you for it unprovoked. I have never once replied to a member directly insulting them for zero reason, unlike you guys. Like Ifmymemoryserves said, you guys decided within two posts of mine that you wanted to target me for your sick amusement. Please just stop, and please just leave me alone, all of you. It's literally hurting my feelings now, and if that brings you pleasure, then maybe you just need to step the fuck back and focus on your own problems.

Maddy. Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Did you two honestly even read our posts that you have to shut the fuck up? Well here it is again, shut the fuck up.

Yeah, I already thought so. I just thought, let's post it anyway to avoid people going all "THAT'S ALREADY DISCUSSED " at me. since this thread looks like it's just one big string of personal insults and all. that was a hint.

Mar Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 How about this: I can never listen to WICA when it's not on the radio. I just don't like the song, I don't seek it out. For me, I think there's too much of that song!

For me, like I said earlier, American idiot was the most annoying Green Day song for me
