Juan Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 it was a home demo. This one sounds studio quality.
jose armstrong Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 he recorded it in his home STUDIOdon't make me go look for the article
!Viva La Analee! Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 this is probably the best cover green day's ever done.but i still like the original more.
greendaytone Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Well they played it I hope Tony got to see it I did get to see it! Madison Square Garden, 28th July. I couldn't believe it! Generally though, i don't think many people knew it unfortunately.
jose armstrong Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 if they had played it in my show (and many other songs I want to hear live) I would've gone mad.
GreenDay808 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 could possibly be the best bonus song/b-side (whatever) song yet. i love it.
Mato Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I actually got really into it. LOVE IT. It's better than original in my opinion.

Jimmy Strummer Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 THE BEST COVER SONG I'VE EVER HEARD BY ANYONE COVERING ANYONE!!!!! This overshadows any version The Who did. And I'm a HUGE Who fan. I have every album from My Generation up to Quadrophenia (I believe the good stuff stopped after Quadrophenia)!
Brian Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 I actually got really into it. LOVE IT. It's better than original in my opinion.This.
deadair Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 This was the first Who song I heard (when I was 9 years old, 3 years before I got into Green Day) and it is still my favorite to my very day. I was ecstatic when I heard that Green Day would be covering it. The Green Day cover is the 2nd best version I've heard of the song. The best version I've heard of A Quick One was The Who's live version at the Rolling Stones Rock N Roll Circus which is the first version I heard/saw.
Tiffx Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I love Green Day's cover, but I just loovvee the original Who version. They are both great though. Another one of those songs that just gives me a good feeling.
BillieJoe727 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just listened to 'The Who' version, and Green Day's is by far better!! "you are forgiven, you are forgiven, you are forgiven...."
Rebel07 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 It was really weird..in the spring, before 21stCB came out and when i was still in high school, my english teacher would always play us a song and have us write about it and whatnot, and one day he played us a video of the who playing a quick one while he's away... and the whole time i'm watching it, it reminded me of green day. Just because the song was so long and it kept changing riffs and stuff. and then after school i get home and look at itunes and it shows that green day was coming out with a cover of it. it was just really weird lol
BuriedInAHole Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 This song is amazing..I liked it by The Who, but as my best friend Karsten recommended it to me and send it to me I was so amazed! This song puts me always in a good mood!!
Laura! Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 This song has really grown on me the past week. I'm starting to listen to it a lot more than I used to. This is now tied with Like A Rolling Stone as my favorite cover.
Brian Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I'm having a tough time understanding one line during Ivor the engine driver part. "He told me he loves you, he ain't no liar, (unknown line)."The lyrics for the original is supposed to be "I ain't either" but it doesn't sound like anything like that. Maybe its just the way Billie says this line that gets me confused...
Trina Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I have multiple downloads of this and the other covers and two b-sides but I can't burn any of them onto a disc! It's so annoying. It must be whatever format they're in. I guess it's my fault for not paying but hey! :/Anyways, seriously this cover is just TOO good.
dolce Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm not particularly a fan of The Who, so previous to the cover, I had never heard the song. It took me some time to warm up to it (because, as I said, I'm not really a fan of The Who), but now I LOVE it. I listen to it every day now.

Maybe its just the way Billie says this line that gets me confused...Same, i've been trying to connect the real line with what he says and it's just not happening lolIt doesn't sound anything like it.If he was saying "Like I ain't, either" that might make more sense but even then it's a bit of a stretchI love the song though
Metanoia Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 just epic !!! can't stop listening to it !!!!!!!! but the original one is so cool as well !!!!
