P3AC3MAK3R Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 absolutly love this song <3 definatly one of my favourites ♥
Just Kate Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 this song is really perfect ending of the record... i love it's beginning being as same as 21st Century Breakdown beginning. it's really cool
Eeefaa. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 least favourite song on the album. not a bad song at all- just my least favourite on the album
Joy of suburbia. Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 this song is really perfect ending of the record... i love it's beginning being as same as 21st Century Breakdown beginning. it's really cool this. I remember I heard this on HBO and I went fucking nuts. It always blows me away everytime I hear it.
Just Kate Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 i know all Green Day albums always end up with a big bang. this song may not be big bang, but there's something special about it that makes it even better... i absolutely love it
Kayfabe Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 The punch line is a natural disaster and it's sung by the unemployed I like that line cause it portrays the state of our world as a show... kind of thing. Y'know? EDIT: WRONG song. Doh
MagdaJoy Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Well, i like this song, but is it just me or does the begining sound a bit like 21stCB ? .
Just Kate Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Well, i like this song, but is it just me or does the begining sound a bit like 21stCB ? . haha, well it is. it's almost the same sound except there's different tone or sth. but it fits great to the end of the record. it has as much power as Whatsername for example, but it's not that hard. just awesome
Maddy. Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Same chords, just a bit faster. I love this song. It's got ~power.
Rosie May Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I always forget about this song when I'm not listening to it. I only ever actually play if I'm listening to the album as a whol;e. I like it, I can't really think of anything I don't like about it, but I dunno, it has to grow on you. the first time I heard iot I didn't like it at all and I thought it was a real anti-climax after 21 Guns. I think it is the only way to end the album but I dunno, it's sort of not epic anough to finsih the album, but at the same time I couldn't imagine anything else in it's place. (I'm fairly sure that made no sense at all) . I love the last lyric "and the ever after is in the hands of fate," I love that, I think lyrically, it's the perfect end to the album.
colour_me_stupid_ Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I fucking love the ending fade away riff... This. I always think along the lines of "Well there's the end of something fucking epic " when I listen to it!
Just Kate Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 haha, that's good. i always think of sunny streets of Netherlands...
ChelseaWhatsername Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 This is one of the songs that makes my mom speed up, driving to work. It is a great song. It has a desperate edge to it, as well as a bit of hope that everything is gonna be OK. and you can hear it and sense it in the lyrics.
she's high voltage Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 One of my favourites. as much as i love 21 Guns, i think this would have made a better single, personally.
Christina. Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I do love the beginning of the song. In a whole, I think it's a good song but not a great song.
in_your_face Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 well, in my opinion, it's a perfect song!! it's a good way of ending the record!!
Wajd Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Theres just something about the song that i can't help but love, can't pinpoint what it is though! I totally .. agree with you ..
Guest Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 least favourite song on the album. not a bad song at all- just my least favourite on the album Same here. It's an alright song, it just doesn't do anything for me. Definitely the weakest song on the album in my opinion.
groundpatty Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 pretty cool tidbit - it is being used as the theme song for this year's NFL Hall of Fame Inductee ceremony. Its been playing whenever it goes in and out of commercial anyways, my absolute favorite part of the song is right before the guitar solo, where billie and mike hold out the word "fights" and its just them singing. goosebumps.
