green-day1972 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Mike's voice is so beautiful !! I love the part I want to take a ride to the great divide beyond the "up to date" and then neo-gentrifiedMaybe the best song of 21st Century Breakdown
04rebhop Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I never really got into this song until i heard it live. They never played it on the first night, but they did the second and it blew me away when i heard it live and i realised how totally amazing it was. I think it's Mike's vocals that make it sound so good. Everytime i am in the car i play this and sing along really loud to piss off my parents. I just love shouting ' I don't wanna live in the modern world'.
pasalacqua_or_bust Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I loved American Eulogy from the beginning. It's so epic. I love Mike's part, especially the "I don't give a shit about the modern age" line. IT'S FUCKING AWESOME.
AnaArmstrong Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I love this song! And Mike's voice is simply awesome! "I don't give a shit about the modern age" now it's in history! And I really like to play this song on my guitar, it's simple but strong and powerfull!
gone2pasalacqua Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 alright...i was reading the lyrics of this song in the CD leaflet today and in the line "deny the allegation as its written fuckin lies", "fuckin lies" isn't printed! is that only on my copy or is it like like on other CDs??
Mar Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 alright...i was reading the lyrics of this song in the CD leaflet today and in the line "deny the allegation as its written fuckin lies", "fuckin lies" isn't printed! is that only on my copy or is it like like on other CDs??No, it's not on the Web site either, it's like an unofficial lyric or something
gone2pasalacqua Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 No, it's not on the Web site either, it's like an unofficial lyric or something really? haha, weird.
Tre_Gina Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I love this song now after seeing it live, it is great and full or energy.
leacalifornia Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 ^^I totally agree!I looovee this song!!my best friend got me a shirt with my favorite lyrics from the song"Beyond the up to date and the neo-gentrified..."and it says American Eulogy on the back.
Just Kate Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 i love this song... but there's one BUT. i don't like the place of this song. to me it shouldn't be just after 21 guns. it's too agressive to be there. i alvways listen to 21 guns patiently and i get really sad. if it was before 21 guns it'd be perfect. it's really good. i love this guitar...
P3AC3MAK3R Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 i love this song i love mikes part i really wanna see this live
Maddy. Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 ^YES!I'd love to see this song live. One of the main reasons why I'm ~devastated over not being able to go to Wembley.
Black Wolf Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I've now later really started to like this song. It's just so nice. Fav part is Mayday this is not a test, as the neigborhood burns. America is falling, vigilates warning you, calling Christian and Gloria.Dunno what I could write 'bout..
Rage & Love. Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 To be quite honest, I payed no attention to this song on the album when it came out, but when i had a feeling which i've never felt before at their concert.. I can't stop listening to it :')
champagne mami Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 To be quite honest, I payed no attention to this song on the album when it came out, but when i had a feeling which i've never felt before at their concert.. I can't stop listening to it :')Same here. Well, not about the whole feeling at a concert thing. But When i first got this album, i always use to skip this song. At first, i thought this song was like okay. But I've listened to it over and over and now.. it's one of my favorites from Green Day.
leacalifornia Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 at the concert in San Diego he seemed a little hesitant to sing his part...did anyone else notice that or am I just being weird?? haha

Foxboro Holiday Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Of all my favourite bands backup singers I've never freaked out as much over Mike singing in American Eulogy xD Seriously great voice
Burge Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Epic track. The two parts are stitched together very neatly. Yeah, Mass Hysteria sounds a little like Church on Sunday but so what? Are you kidding? If any song sounds like Church on Sunday its Static Age. 'If I promise go to Church on Sunday, will you go with me on Friday night' 'I can see me in the video, I can hear sounds on the radio' Exact same chords, key, everything. Anyway this songs rules and is top 3 on the album for sure. Is this album's Homecoming but not quite as epicly awesome as that song. Comes close though.
saraHsunshine Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I this song. The lyrics are so poetic but completely true and filled with the angst of living in the middle of a social transition. My sister and I love to drive to this song and sing our little hearts out. We will be doing it when I get home from break tomorrow I am sure
Marki. Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 ^ Yes! Mike's voice is so beautiful !! I love the part I want to take a ride to the great divide beyond the "up to date" and then neo-gentrified I came here to write this I absolutely love Mike's part, I just watched some live videos of this song and he's a great singer Now I really want to see them play this live... And the lyrics are perfect, I don't know why I haven't listened to this song more...
Lotte Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 At first I didn't really like this song, but I've listened to it more the last couple of weeks and I really like it now
Marki. Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Omg I love this video from the Fox Theater You have probably already seen it, but I just have to post this "Mike Dirnt" !
